Display and operation
There are four display and control elements on the CC-2M located on the top side of the
housing. These are one red, two yellow and one green LED and one push button

LED: Error or Link Down / Echo mode






The yellow LED signals that:




Error or Link Down:
The red LED directly signals the way in which the DR relay functions. For the LED
goes out, certain conditions must be fulfilled:
The Reset Push Button is not pushed.
The E1/T1 interface is connected and in service.
Echo mode:
The red LED flashes with a frequency of 2 Hz when the optical interfaces FO1/LWL1
and FO2/LWL2 are in the Echo mode.
To activate the Echo mode the Reset Push Button is pushed shortly (< 1 s). In this
mode, the data received at Rx are issued again at the corresponding transmission
side Tx on all interfaces ((FO1/LWL1, FO2/LWL2, E1/T1, and RS232). No data are
sent to the communication network. This Echo mode is not intended for the use on the
RS485 interface, as this interface is a 2-wire half-duplex connection.
This mode is suitable to check the local optical connection between the protection
device and CC-2M. The GOK contact stays in or switches to the idle state (inactive).
To return to the normal operating mode, the Reset Push Button is actuated (> 1 s).
As an LED function test the LED is lit when the Reset Push Button is actuated
(> 1 s).
Once you have released the Reset Push Button, the LED shows the selected default
(E1 or T1).
E1 Mode (2.048 MBit/s): The LED is permanently lit 1 s.
T1 Mode (1.544 MBit/s): The LED flashes 4 times per second.
Data are received at the sending/receiving line of LWL1.
A blinking LED means that data is received from the FO1 input and the received data
is routed though the CC-2M to the assigned B-Channel. But it is not verified if the
dates are reached the remote device. The flashing frequency during data transmissi-
on or reception depends on the data content and can vary.
The LED light up if the Reset push button is pressed. Once you have released the
Reset Push Button, the LED shows the selected mode (balanced or unbalanced).
balanced: The LED is permanently lit 1 s.
unbalanced: The LED flashes 4 times per second.
