ful to the health.

2.5 MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS

UNDER SAFETY CONDITIONS

- Periodically check that all the parts and the safety
devices of the attachment are in good conditions.
- Periodically check that the screws and the nuts
are tightened and that the pipe fittings, if any, do
not leak.
- Use the suggested oils and lubricants.
- The spare parts shall comply with the needs of
the manufacturer. Use original spare parts only.
- It is strictly forbidden to remove or tamper the
safety devices.
- The maintenance of the attachment shall be
carried out only when the machine is off, by
skilled personnel and according to the instruc-
tions listed in this manual.
- The lubrication and the greasing shall be car-
ried out only when the engine is off and cool.
During these operations do not smoke and keep
away from free flames. If some lubricant is
spilled, absorb it immediately before starting the
attachment.
Store the lubricants in suitable rooms where
authorized personnel only are admitted; keep
them out of the children's reach.
- The safety signs on the attachment give brief
instructions to avoid accidents. Clean them when
they are dirty and replace them immediately if
they come off or they are damaged.
- This instruction manual must be read, memo-
rized and kept for the whole life of the attach-
ment until it is completely dismantled. If it gets
lost, contact the manufacturer immediately and
ask for a new copy.
SECTION 3
Use of the rotary hoe
The maintenance and the adjustment of the
attachment shall be carried out only when the
engine is not running and the machine is
properly locked.

3.1 CONNECTION TO THE MOTOR HOE

In order to connect the rotary hoe, please make
reference to the INSTRUCTION MANUAL of the
motor
hoe,
to
«REPLACEMENT OF THE INTERCHANGEABLE
ATTACHMENTS».
If necessary, stop the engine, lock the motor hoe
horizontally and then:
- Put on a pair of strong protective gloves
- Two people shall lift the rotary hoe by grasping
the sides of the attachment: be careful not to
crush and not to cut your hands.
- Insert the sleeve (1 Fig. 2 or 2 Fig. 4) in the hous-
ing of the power take off of the motor hoe.
When you assemble the cutter bar, be careful
not to damage the sleeve of the power take off.
We suggest to swing the attachment slightly until
it is completely fitted in.
- Lock the rotary hoe with the special spring lock
or with the nuts, according to the type of motor
hoe to which is it connected.
3.2 ADJUSTMENT OF THE DEPTH
OF HOEING
Adjust the depth of hoeing according to your needs
by adjusting the central knife «c» (fig. 2 - 4). This
knife has some holes on the back. The position of
the knife changes according to the type of soil and
according to the engine power.
Usually, when the ground is hard, the hole no. 2
Fig. B-E is used, while, in case of a soft or sandy
ground, we suggest the hole no. 1 Fig. B-E,
because, in this way, the depth of hoeing is
increased.
3.3 ADJUSTMENT OF THE WORKING
WIDTH
The hoeing width can be adjusted by arranging
the knives in different ways and by adjusting the
casing width.
After disassembling the knives, however, make
sure to reassemble them correctly. i.e. with the
cutting edge turned towards the front of the
machine. We suggest to always adjust the
knives of one side only without disassembling
the knives of the other side, so that it is
possible to make reference to them, in case
this is necessary.
