Lower the forks completely. Remove the oil
plug with copper seal (see Fig. 8). Add oil until
it is level with the lower edge of the opening.
Refit the oil plug with the o-ring towards the
body (do not tighten down yet). Bleed the hy-
draulic system by making several pumping
actions with the handle. When air ceases to
emit from the filler plug, tighten the plug down
tightly.
Check lubrication and leakage
As required by the application check, clean
and lubricate all shafts, axles and linkage as-
semblies (e.g. Shell FD or equivalent).
Attention: this is not valid for hand pallet
trucks in stainless steel design!
Check the hydraulic system at regular inter-
vals for leakage.

FUNCTION / OPERATION

Raising the load
Move the control lever to the lower position
(see Fig. 7) and make several pumping ac-
tions with the handle. Always lift the load at
its centre of gravity.
Lowering the load
Switch the control lever to the upper position
(see Fig. 7) until the forks have lowered to the
desired position. The lowering speed can be
influenced by sensitively operating the control
lever.
Neutral position
To transport the load the lever must be in the
centre position (see Fig. 7). This prevents the
load being raised or lowered during transpor-
tation.
HAND PALLET TRUCKS WITH BRAKES
Apply the brake
Pull the brake lever (see Fig. 9) up (on the LH
side of the handle) until the desired braking
effect is reached. A toothed lever ensures that
the brake can be locked in any position.
Release the brake
Press the red, plastic covered lever, to the right.
Hold the lever in this position and depress the
brake lever to release the brake.
QUICK-LIFT (optional)
The quick-Lift option works up to load capaci-
ties of 400 kg. The maximum lifting height is
reached with seven pumping actions. When
operating please note the higher operating
force required and the larger stroke.
CLEANING THE STAINLESS STEEL
HAND PALLET TRUCK
To maintain the corrosion resistance the stain-
less steel hand pallet truck must be cleaned
at regular intervals. If the hand pallet truck is
used in the foodstuff industry it should be
cleaned every day. Clean the frame, handle,
connecting rods and the hydraulic unit from
any meat or fish remains. After cleaning the
hand pallet truck it should be wiped-down with
conservating oil. This increases the working
life of the hand pallet truck and maintains the
corrosion protection.
We recommend Oxofoam VF5, Acifoam VF 10
resp. Divomil DC. In quantities larger than 20
litre. These can be obtained from DiversyLev-
er GmbH. Smaller quantities (500 or 400 ml)
of products like "stainless steel power clean-
er spray" and "stainless steel conservating oil
spray" can be purchased from Yale Industrial
Products.

INSPECTION / MAINTENANCE

To ensure that the truck remains in safe
working order it is to be subjected to regular
inspections by a competent person.
Inspections are to be annual unless adverse
working conditions dictate shorter periods. The
components of the truck are to be inspected
for damage, wear, corrosion or other
irregularities and all safety devices are to be
checked for completeness and effectiveness.
Repairs may only be carried out by a specialist
workshop that uses original Little Mule spare
parts.
For the disposal of waste or replaced items
such as hydraulic oil or old tyres always adhere
to the waste disposal regulations valid in the
country where the hand pallet truck is being
used.
Inspections are instigated by the user.
