The "trip meter" is reached by pressing the "down arrow" once. The display
shows running hours from last service and the chosen service interval, normally
2000 h, making it easy to see how near in time next service is. The display returns
automatically to the starting point after 30 s. If running time is 2000 h or more
(maximum displayed value is 9999 h) the display also shows "Time for service"
every second and the yellow lamp flashes. A warning signal is also available at the
terminal block (terminals 60–61) but the installation will not stop. An authorised
service technician can reset the warning.
The service hour meter for total running hours is reached by pressing "down
arrow" twice. Maximum displayed time is 9999 (x10) h, i.e. 99990 h. No settings
possible. The display returns automatically.
Menu 3 displays the software version. No settings possible. New software can be
installed using EPROM.
Filter cleaning can be either "Standard filter cleaning" or "RF filter cleaning"
depending on type of dust collector installed. Standard filter cleaning requires
only one signal from the PLC while RF requires two signals. Signal number two
is released 30 s (fixed delay) after signal number one. See the external wiring
diagram. For standard filter cleaning signal two has no function and is normally not
wired to the collector. (However, with FlexFilter Twin it is possible to feed signal 1
to one of the solenoid valves and signal 2 to the other solenoid valve. The result is
improved filter cleaning but not to the level of RF filter cleaning.)
Settings are made for signal 1 in this menu. During Ton, normally 4 s, filter
cleaning is active. Extended time does not improve filter cleaning efficiency. Toff
is the time between filter cleanings, normally 120 min (2 h). Toff can be set shorter
but the mechanical wear increases with more frequent filter cleanings. Shortest
settable time is 15 minutes. Signal 2 follows 30 seconds after signal 1 and with the
same duration as signal 1. Manual filter cleaning is released by pushing "Manual
filter cleaning" on the display. Manual filter cleaning can also be released from
a dust collector located at a distance from the starter but requires an extra push
button. See the external connections diagram, terminals 44–45.
The SSR function (automatic start/stop) is always available in the starter but all
vacuum outlets must be fitted with a micro switch "AS-set" which is an option to
the vacuum valve. The vacuum unit stops auto matically a few minutes after all
outlets have closed. Note that recommended stopping delay differs for VAC-units
and RBU-units as per menu 5. Energy saving is substantial.
The DIR function is always available but has a true function for RBU installations
only using the SSR function. The RBU unit switches over to idling (50% energy
saving) a few seconds after all vacuum valves on work sites have closed. Full
vacuum returns within a few seconds, if required. Alternatively, the SSR function
takes over if there is no vacuum requirement and the vacuum unit comes to a
complete stop. Results in substantial energy saving for RBU installations.
The Filter alarm is always available but the dust collector must be fitted with the
"DPS" option (Differential Pressure Switch) i.e. with a switch that breaks if the
pressure drop across the filter exceeds 4 kPa. False alarm is avoided by setting a
delay, "Filter alarm re(sponse)" to 1 minute. A pressure drop exceeding 4 kPa for
more than 1 minute causes a Warning and the yellow lamp on the starter lights. The
warning is available at the terminal block in the form of a potential free closing
contact (terminals 60–61). "Stop delay time" is normally set to 60 min resulting
in "Summary alarm" and vacuum unit stopping 1 hour after the warning was
activated and no action has been taken. The time can be set longer, up to 9999 min,
