Persons / Product
The wall outlet lamp is manufactured according to protection class 1. It may only be operated
on wall outlets with protective conductor. Operation of the wall outlet lamp without an earth
connection is not permitted.
For the electricity source, only a 230 V~ / 50 Hz (16 A) mains outlet with a protective conductor
may be used. Never try to operate the device on any other voltage.
The product may not be subjected to extreme temperatures, strong vibrations, heavy
mechanical strain, direct sunlight or high degrees of humidity. This may damage the product
and lead to a mortal electric shock.
The wall outlet lamp may never be operated, plugged in or unplugged with damp or wet
hands.
Electrical appliances must be kept out of the reach of children. Pay particular attention if
children are present. Children are not aware of the potential danger associated with the
incorrect handling of electrical appliances. Caution, risk of injuries (burns) or fatal electric
shock!
Never pour out any liquids over or next to the product. You run the risk of causing a fi re
or a fatal electric shock! Should liquid penetrate the interior of the device nonetheless, do
not touch it! First of all cut off the power supply to the relevant mains socket (e.g. via the
circuit breaker) and then carefully pull the lamp out of the mains socket. Do not operate the
appliance any more. Take it to a specialist workshop.
Do not use the lamp in environments with high dust rates, fl ammable gasses, vapours,
solvents or other adverse ambient conditions.
Never operate the device without supervision.
Only use the appliance in a moderate climate, and avoid a tropical environment.
Do not leave the packaging material lying around carelessly since it constitutes a danger to
children.
Never connect the product directly after transferring it from a cold to a warm room. The
condensation that forms could destroy the device or lead to an electric shock. Allow the
device to reach room temperature before connecting it. Wait until the condense water has
evaporated. This can take some hours.
The wall outlet lamp is not suitable for commercial use.
Do not look directly into the light source and never direct the light beam onto persons or
animals, as this may lead to eye damage.
Do not put the product into operation if it is damaged. Operating with a damaged casing or
Version 03/10
lampshade is not permitted.
Only a specialist who is familiar with the risks and relevant regulations may carry out repairs
or open the appliance. Only original replacement parts may be used.
Always pull the wall outlet lamp out of the mains socket before cleaning it, in case of
thunderstorms or if you do not use the device for a longer period (>1 week).
The lamp is only intended for use with common household wall outlets. Do not connect the
lamp to extension cords.
Do not hang any items, e.g. decorations, on the lamp.
Do not point the lamp head towards the lam casing, otherwise it heats up excessively.
The wall outlet lamp may become very hot during operation on the lamp head and on some
metal parts (danger of burns)! Take the necessary care in using the lamp.
Keep the lamp away from easily fl ammable materials and objects!
Always pull the wall outlet lamp out of the mains outlet:
-
before cleaning the appliance
-
during thunderstorms
-
if you will not be using the appliance for a longer period
Miscellaneous
Servicing, adjustment or repair works must only be carried out by a specialist/ specialist
workshop.
If questions arise which are not clarifi ed within the course of these operating instructions,
please contact our technical support or another specialist. Please consult a specialist in case
of doubts about correct operation or product safety.
5.
Operation
Remove all packaging materials.
Only plug the wall outlet lamp into a stable wall outlet.
Never place the lamp close to fl ammable materials. Make sure that no object
(e. g. a curtain) can come into contact with the lamp or into its vicinity
through a drought of air. There is risk of fi re.
You have to maintain a distance of at least 50 cm between the lamp head
and the illuminated surface. Also keep a suffi cient distance from the lamp
head to the neighbouring surfaces and other objects (danger of fi re).
Keep the wall outlet lamp away from moisture and heat sources (heaters).
The entire lamp must be installed out of the range of children. Children
might get hurt or cause a fi re.
Place the lamp in a safe spot where it cannot be accidently thrown over and
torn out of the wall outlet.
Before using the lamp, check it for damage. A damaged lamp may not be
used.
1.
Make sure that the lamp is turned off by turning the rotary switch
counter-clockwise all the way until it stops.
2.
Insert the lamp unit into a (230 V~ / 50 Hz) mains socket.
3.
The lamp is now ready for use.
4.
The lamp has an adjustable, fl exible neck, a so-called swan neck.
With the help of the swan neck, you can adjust the angle of the lamp
head to achieve an optimum illumination angle.
The wall outlet lamp may become very hot close to the lamp head and also
on the metal casing around the lamp head (danger of injury through burns!)
Take the necessary care in using the lamp.
The lamp head may only be adjusted below the section marked by the
sticker when in operation. We recommend you switch the lamp off prior to
adjusting it and wait 10 minutes until it has cooled down.
Do not put the product into extremely slanted positions. This may damage
the lamp. The minimum distance of 50 cm to the illuminated surface may
not be undercut as this may otherwise become damaged through the heat
or catch on fi re.
5.
The lamp is turned on and off with the rotary switch, which also serves to dim the brightness.
6.
Turn the rotary switch clockwise (towards „Max") until you hear a click; the lamp is turned on
now.
7.
The more you turn the rotary switch towards „Max", the brighter the light gets.
8.
Turning the switch towards „Min" reduces the brightness.
9.
To turn the lamp off, turn the rotary switch once again counter-clockwise towards „Min" until
you hear the clicking sound.
The wall outlet lamp is connected with the mains voltage independent of whether it is
turned off as long as it is plugged in. To completely separate the wall outlet lamp from
the voltage, pull it ot of the mains socket.
6.
Changing the light bulb
Only change the illuminant when the lamp has completely cooled down.
This may take longer than 10 minutes.
Do not use any other type of illuminant under any circumstance or an
illuminant with a higher output than indicated in the „Technical data" section
(danger of fi re). Only insert an illuminant that corresponds to the details in
the „Technical data" section and that corresponds with the technical data
of the lamp (see label on the lamp).
Do not touch the new illuminant with your bare hands. The fat on the skin
would damage it otherwise. Use soft fabric gloves or a cloth when touching
the illuminant.
1.
Turn the wall outlet lamp off. Wait at least 10 minutes or more until the lamp has cooled
down.
2.
Pull the wall outlet lamp out of the mains outlet.
3.
Carefully remove the defect illuminant (danger of breaking) by pulling and tilting slightly.
4.
Plug the new illuminant into the illuminant socket of the wall outlet lamp. Ensure the correct
fi t.
5.
Plug the wall outlet lamp back into the wall outlet.
7.
Cleaning and maintenance
Periodically check the technical safety of the device, e.g. check for damage to the housing
etc.
If the product is damaged, put it out of service and secure it against accidental operation.
The lamp is maintenance-free apart from replacing the illuminant.
Turn the lamp off and pull it out of the wall outlet before cleaning it.
The outside of the lamp control should only be cleaned with a soft, dry cloth or brush.
Do not use abrasive cleaning or scouring agents or chemical solutions which could damage
the housing or impair operation.
8.
Disposal
In order to preserve, protect and improve the quality of environment, protect human
health and utilise natural resources prudently and rationally, the user should return
unserviceable product to relevant facilities in accordance with statutory regulations.
The crossed-out wheeled bin indicates the product needs to be disposed separately
and not as municipal waste.
