Please ensure that only those pH values are set which do not harm fish. This is the section of
the table labelled "CO

such as water movement, consumption by plants, etc. and must be calculated individually for
each particular aquarium.
Begin with about 15 bubbles per minute in the JBL Taifun per 100 l aquarium water (this
corresponds to about 10 bubbles per minute using the bubble counter).
After one day, check whether the desired pH value has been attained in the aquarium.
Should this not be the case, increase the CO
Taifun (approx. 14 - 16 bubbles in the bubble counter). If necessary, increase the supply in
further small stages until the required pH level is reached.
Check to make sure the pH level is maintained, so that the CO
test is also correct.
In the case of the m503 and m2003 CO
selected pH level.

13 Note on the pressure indicated on the pressure regulator

ambient temperature. At room temperature (approx. 20°C), the left-hand pressure gauge of the
pressure regulator indicates a pressure of about 50 bar. This increases if the room temperature
rises. At 30 °C, the gauge therefore indicates about 70 bar. The pressure in the storage bottle
does not indicate the amount of gas it contains. It remains constant and in line with the sur-
rounding temperature until shortly before the bottle is empty. The amount of CO
only be estimated by weighing. The empty weight (tare) of the storage bottle is stamped on the
bottle. The current weight minus the tare weight equals the amount of CO
The pressure in the bottle is adjusted downwards by the pressure regulator to an easily man-
ageable pressure, known as the "operating pressure ". The right-hand pressure gauge of the
pressure regulator indicates the operating pressure. In the JBL u001 and m001 pressure regu-
lators, it is preset to approx. 1.5 bar. This is the optimum pressure for CO
ums. If required, however, the operating pressure can also be adjusted using the setting screw,
which is situated under the small black cover at the "nose" of the regulator. When adjusting the
operating pressure, it is important for CO
closed, as this would prevent adjustment of the new operating pressure.

14 Changing bottles

If the bottle pressure (left-hand pressure gauge) falls below 30 bar, the bottle will need to be
refilled (refillable bottle) within the next 2 – 3 days. The disposable bottle may only be replaced,
when it no longer contains any CO
no CO
bubbles rise in the aquarium.

Disposable storage bottles:
Make sure that the disposable bottle is completely empty. No CO
diffuser. Disconnect the CO
tor from the bottle by turning anti-clockwise. Dispose of the empty bottle according to the local
regulations for waste disposal. Connect a new bottle as described in chapter 11.1.
Refillable storage bottles:
Close the bottle valve and disconnect the CO
adjusting screw and release any pressure remaining in the pressure regulator until both pres-
sure gauges indicate 0. Disconnect the connecting nut of the pressure regulator from the bottle
valve. Have the refillable bottle refilled.
If no full refillable storage bottles are available at the moment, a disposable bottle can be used.
Using an Allen key (size 6), remove the bottle connection nut from the pressure regulator. The
