2. Electrical safety.
a) The power-tool plug should match the socket. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any
adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching sockets will
reduce the risk of electric shock.
b) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ovens and
refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
c) Do not expose the power tool to rain or other wet conditions. If water gets inside the power tool,
the risk of electric shock is increased.
d) Do not abuse the power cable. Never use it for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool.
Keep the cable away from heat, oil, sharp edges and moving parts. Damaged or tangled cables
increase the risk of electric shock.
e) If operating the power tool outdoors, use an extension cable suitable for outdoor use. Using a
cable suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
f) If operating the power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a power supply protected by a
residual current device (RCD). The use of RCDs reduces the risk of electric shock.
3. Personal safety.
a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating the power tool. Do
not use the power tool when you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A
single moment of inattention while operating the power tool may result in serious personal injury.
b) Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment such as
dust masks, slip-resistant shoes, hard hats and hearing protection will reduce personal injuries.
c) Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the OFF position before connecting the
power tool to the power source, picking the power tool up or carrying it. Carrying the power tool with
your finger on the switch or recharging the power tool while it is switched on can cause accidents.
d) Remove any keys or wrenches before turning the power tool on. A wrench or key left attached to
a rotating part of the power tool can cause personal injury.
e) Do not overreach. Keep a secure footing and maintain your balance at all times. This will enable
better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.
f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away
from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery and long hair can get caught in moving parts.
g) If accessories are provided to extract and collect dust, ensure they are connected and properly
used. Removing dust can reduce dust-related hazards.
4. Power tool use and care.
a) Use the correct power tool for the job. You can do the job better, safer and faster using a power
tool designed for the job at hand.
b) Do not use the power tool if the ON/OFF switch does not work. Any power tool that cannot be
controlled with the switch is dangerous and should be repaired.
c) Disconnect the plug from the power source before making any adjustments, swapping attachments
or storing the power tool. These preventive safety measures can reduce the risk of starting the
power tool unintentionally.
d) Store the power tool out of the reach of children and do not allow people unfamiliar with the power
tool or these instructions to operate it. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
e) Keep the power tool well maintained. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage
of parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool's operation. If damaged, have the
power tool repaired. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are
less likely to bind and are easier to control.
g) Use the power tool, accessories, tool bits, etc. in accordance with these instructions, taking into
account the working conditions and the work to be carried out. Using the power tool for jobs different
from those it was designed for may cause accidents.
