Operating instructions
1. Always set the hoist up on firm, even ground.
2. To prevent the unit from sliding during the lifting process, you should ALWAYS start by determining the centre of
gravity of the load to be lifted.
3. Position the vehicle hoist underneath the load in such a way that the contact surface (C) is located directly below the
centre of gravity of the object to be lifted.
4. Operate the foot lever (J) until the contact surface (C) touches the load, then lock the transportation rollers (M). Before
starting to lift, always check to ensure that both the contact surface and the load are correctly positioned.
5. Lift the load by operating the foot lever; ALWAYS ensure that the safety mechanism (N) is inserted into one of the
three specified heights as soon as the required lift as been achieved.
6. Apply the lashing straps (see the section on Securing the load) when the load has been raised to the required height.
Ensure you lash the straps tightly.
7. Use the adjustment screw (G) to stabilise the loaded vehicle hoist on the ground.
Lowering the load
1. Raise the vehicle hoist slightly and remove the safety gate (D) in order to release the safety mechanism (N).
2. Fix the gate (D) with the clamp (Q) if you intend to fully lower the load.
3. Press the release (K) slightly to lower the contact surface (C) and the load.
Caution: The lashing straps will loosen as the load is lowered. This may mean that the load becomes unstable as a result.
4. As soon as the load has been set down safely, the lashing straps can be removed.
Securing the load with lashing straps
Ratchet grip A
Ratchet grip, opened (plan view)
1.
Insert the strap hooks into the eyes (P) of the vehicle hoist and lead the straps over the load.
2.
With the ratchet grip (A) closed, feed the end (long end) of each strap through the opening in the spindle (B), then
take it over the spindle and pull it backwards.
3.
Work the ratchet grip up and down until the load is secured. If necessary, you may also tighten a loose strap manually.
Caution: To avoid causing damage to the load, try not to tighten the straps too much.
4.
The ratchet grips are GENERALLY only locked when they are clicked into the "closed position" (see below).
Releasing the lashing straps
Ratchet grip A
Ratchet grip, closed (plan view)
1.
Hold the ratchet grip in one hand, use the other hand to pull back the locking mechanism (C) on the ratchet (A).
2.
Hold back the locking mechanism (C) until the ratchet grip (A) is opened fully beyond the lock until the lock (C) clips
into the fully opened position, or the load is released.
Caution: From this point onwards the load is not secured!
3.
To loosen or remove the strap, pull the ratchet (A) up and pull it out of the spindle opening (B).
