5.3. Removing the battery

 To remove the battery, open the battery compartment as de-
scribed above.
 Carefully push the battery latch upwards; the battery is eject-
ed a little and can be easily removed.

5.4. Charging the battery via USB

NOTE!
The battery is not charged when you purchase the
camera. You must charge the battery before you use
the camera.
You can charge the battery either using a USB mains adapter or
via a USB connection on your PC or another device with a USB
connection.
NOTE!
Only the EU plug version of the mains adapter is sup-
plied; there is not a separate UK AC adapter variant in-
cluded. You can also charge the camera via a PC or an
adapter (UK to EU) (not supplied).

 Connect the other end of the cable to the USB mains adapter
and plug it into the mains socket.
 Alternatively, use the supplied USB cable to connect the cam-
era to the USB port of your PC or to another device with a
USB port.
Connect the USB cable to the camera.
