Using the Kettle

CAUTION!
❐ Danger of scalding! Beware of steam escaping! Be careful when pouring out hot
water.
❐ Take the kettle off the base station to fi ll it, pour water or clean it.
❐ Do not fi ll water any higher than up to the MAX marking as otherwise water can
spray out of the pouring spout when it boils.
❐ Check the limescale fi lter to make sure it is fi rmly in place before you use the kettle.
❐ Do not operate the device without water in it or with less water than is required to
reach the minimum marking. If this does happen, the device switches off automati-
cally. In this case, allow the kettle to cool down before you pour in cold water and
boil it again.
❐ Make sure that the switch is not obstructed and the lid is fi rmly shut. The kettle does
not switch off if the switch is obstructed or the lid is left open.
1. If you have not already done so, place the base station on a dry, fl at, solid and heat-
resistant surface and plug the mains plug into a properly installed plug socket.
2. Remove the kettle from the base station. Open it by pressing the button on the han-
dle and pour drinking water into the kettle. Make sure that the amount of water is
between the minimum and MAX marking. Too little water means that the device will
switch off too early; if the MAX marking is exceeded, water could spray out during
boiling.
