Meaning of the Symbols in These Instructions

All safety instructions are marked with this symbol. Read these instructions
carefully and follow them to avoid injury to persons or damage to property.
Tips and recommendations are marked with this symbol.

Intended Use

❐ The kettle may only be used to heat up water, not for heating up milk or other liquids.
Do not use the kettle to make tea or coffee in it.
❐ The coffee machine is intended to be used exclusively to make coffee.
❐ The toaster is intended to be used for toasting bread.
❐ These devices should not be used by people (including children) with impaired sen-
sory or mental faculties or who do not have adequate experience and/or knowledge
of such devices, unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety,
or have received instructions from such a person on how to use the devices. Chil-
dren must be supervised in order to ensure that they do not play with the devices.
❐ The devices are not designed to be operated with an external timer or a separate
remote control system.
❐ The devices are for personal use only and are not intended for commercial use.
❐ Only use the devices as described in the operating instructions. Any other use is
deemed to be improper.
❐ The following are excluded from the warranty: all defects caused by improper han-
dling, damage or unauthorised attempts to repair. The same applies for normal wear.

Safety Instructions

Danger of Injury
❐ Keep the device and packaging material away from children and animals. There is a
danger of injury and suffocation!
❐ The devices should only be used and stored out of the reach of children. The mains
cable must also be kept out of the reach of children. Otherwise they might use the
cable to pull the devices down on themselves.
❐ CAUTION Danger of scalding! Be careful when handling hot steam, water and sur-
faces. Only ever touch the hot coffee pot or the kettle by the handle.
❐ During operation, the exposed surfaces may be very hot. Do not touch the hot sur-
faces while using the devices (e.g. the fi lter holder, hotplate, the glass of the coffee
