When a suspension device is used, ensure that it is

securely fastened.
Be aware of the risk of crushing between the tool or
•
reaction bar and a fixed object or workpiece, caused
by torque reaction.
Anticipate the torque reaction developed when the
•
drill bit snags or binds, which occurs when breaking
through the material being drilled or when heavily
loaded. If it snags or binds, release the trigger and
remove the drill bit from the workpiece by rotating it
in the reverse direction.
Do not modify the tool, safety devices, or accessories.
•
Do not use this product for purposes other than those
•
recommended.
Use accessories recommended by Ingersoll- -Rand.

When support handle, or other means, is provided

with a high torque tool it should be used to minimize
the hazard due to the reaction torque.
Do not use any drill bits or other accessory having a
•
maximum operating speed less than the free speed of
the drill in which it is being used.
Securely tighten drill bits or other accessories in the
•
chuck before operating the drill. When using a chuck
key, remove it before starting the drill.
For reversible models, note the position of the
•
reversing mechanism before operating the tool so as
to be aware of the direction of rotation when
operating the throttle.
