Battery Compartment
• Insert four UM2 (R14) batteries in the
polarity indicated for radio operation.
• Insert two UM4 (R03) back-up
batteries
Reset
• If, due to external interferences
(caused by static charges of carpets,
thunderstorms, etc.), the control
electronics of your Ocean Boy 510
should receive bad information
signals, or if no entries at all are
possible, you should reset the unit as
follows:
• Remove batteries and disconnect the
mains plug.
• Re-install them again after one minute.
– This resets the unit to its initial state.
The stored data for the individual
station memory positions, the clock
settings and the Last Station Memory
are cleared.
Demo mode
• Press the DISPLAY key during two
seconds.
– The display will show a demo intro-
ducing briefly the RDS features
available in the Ocean Boy 510.
• Press any key to stop the demo
mode.
Battery Operation
• Open the lid of the battery compartment.
• Insert as indicated four UM2 (R14) batteries.
• Close the battery compartment lid.
These batteries serve as power supply for radio operation
without mains connection.
Back-up batteries for clock and preset memory.
In order to keep the clock time and radio presets stored in the
memory during the time that the unit is switched off, it is
necessary to insert two additional back-up batteries.
• Place these batteries size UM4 (R03), in the battery
compartment.
• These batteries should always be inserted, regardless of the
power supply (mains voltage or batteries).
Mains failure
If the standby batteries are fitted, the clock will continue to
operate during mains failure and the preset stations are kept in
the memory.
However, the display will not be illuminated and the alarm will
not sound unless the mains supply is restored within 90 minutes of
the preset alarm time (if so, the radio will switch on or the
alarm tone will sound).
Mains Operation
The unit is designed to operate from a mains supply of
230 V~, 50/60 Hz
• Connect one plug of the mains lead to the AC ~ socket and
the other plug to the wall socket.
– This will switch off the batteries in the battery compartment.
Notes:
• Switch off the radio when connecting or disconnecting the
mains cable.
• Remove the AC plug from the unit when using battery supply.

POWER SUPPLY

Note on Environmental Protection
Do not throw exhausted batteries in the
household refuse. Hand over the old
batteries to your dealer or public collecting
points when buying new ones.

• If the set is not in use for long periods,
