• WHAT yOU NEED:
A plastic place mat or a waxed tablecloth.
An apron to protect your cloths.
Parchment paper on which to bake your models.
• SALT DOUgH RECIPE:
Pour 3 spoonfuls of powder and 1 spoonful of water into the bowl.For more dough multi-
ply the quantities.
Mix it all together with a wooden spoon or knead it with your hands and then make a ball.
• TIPS:
If the dough is sticky, add some powder. If it is too dry and crumbly, add some water.
To stick model parts together, wet them with a brush rather than your fingers.
To make coloured salt dough, dilute some paint in the water.
• CREATINg MODELS:
Protect your work surface with a plastic place mat or a waxed tablecloth.
Roll out the salt dough on your work surface using a rolling pin.
Place your dough cutter on the salt dough.
Then lift it up and remove your model from the cutter.
Place your model on a sheet of parchment paper for baking.
Ask Mum or Dad to put your models in the oven or microwave.
bAkINg IN A TRADITIONAL OvEN
Place the models on a sheet of parchment paper.
Bake the models at 80°C with the door half open while monitoring the baking.
The models have finished baking when they are coated in a hard crust.
WARNING! Baking is faster in a fan-assisted gas or electric oven. You must therefore monitor
the baking regularly.
MICROWAvE bAkINg
Place the models on a sheet of parchment paper.
Bake the models at the microwave's minimum temperature or on defrost setting.
The models have finished baking when they have a hard crust.
WARNING! The power level may vary from one microwave to another. You must therefore
monitor the bake regularly.
AIR DRyINg
Place the models on a sheet of parchment paper.
Leave your models out to dry.
AFTER bAkINg
Paint your models, using the suggested designs to help you.
