Creams or other skin care agents are better absorbed under
influence of infra-red light, and are therefore most effective.
The "Infraphil" wil l also help to keep your skin healthy and clean,
because of its stimulating effect on the blood circulation.
Operating distance:
The lamp should be placed at a distance
from the skin to be treated such that the
heat feels comfortable. Normaily ± 30 cm
is ideal.
Important
• Pain-killing preparations reduce the sensitivity to heat. Infra-
red treatment when using such preparations is therefore not
recommended. If in doubt consult your doctor.
• Close your eyes when irradiating.
• Avoid sudden cooling of treated areas immediately after
treatment.
• Always place the lamp on a horizontal surface. Do not sus-
pend it from the wall or ceiling (see pag. 2).
• Never spill water on the appliance.
• Do not use the lamp in bathrooms or in showers.
• Do not place inflammable objects in the beam of light: combs
or spectacle frames made from certain plastics may be da-
maged and fabrics may get scorched.
• Do not subject the lamp to heavy shocks.
Cleaning and maintenance
The "Infraphil" can be cleaned with a cloth damped with distil-
led water or alcohol, if so required. Before cleaning, however,
the lamp must be allowed to cool, and disconnected from the
wall socket.
The bulb must be replaced by the same bulb with the same
bayonet fitting.
Guarantee Certificate (not for U.K.)
Philips warrant this appliance for a period of one year, provided that
Icgal prcscriptions do not prescribe a longer period.
The guarantee is given against defects in matenal and workman-
ship and comprises piece parts and labour. Any costs of transport
are on account of buyer.
Appiy to your Philips dealer or the Philips orgamzation in your
country in case of a defect producing the completed guarantee cer-
tificate (see the outside of the box).
The guarantee is not valid if the appliance has been misused or if
work has been carried out by unqualified persons.

Arbeitsweise der "Infraphil"
Die "Infraphil" erzeugt infrarote Strahlung. Diese Strahlung
hat die Eigenschaft, tief in die Haut einzudringen.
Durch die so erzeugte Warme erweitern sich die BlutgefaRe
und es setzt eine sterkere Durchblutung ein: Es werden mehr
Aufbaustoffe an die bestrahlte Stelle herangeführt, und der
Körper baut die "Schlacken" in erhöhtem MaBe ab.
Durch die Einwirkung von Warme erweitern sich die Haut-
poren. Aufgrund dieser Eigenschaften ist die "Infraphil" so-
wohl für eine therapeutische als auch kosmetische Behand-
lung geeignet.
Therapeutische Behandlung
Infrarot-Strahlen können helfen: bei Erkaltungen, rheumati-
schen Beschwerden, Muskelschmerzen.
Wir empfehlen, vor der Behandlung den Arzt zu befragen.
A. Bestrahlungsabstand: Der Abstand sollte so gewahlt wer-
den, da3 die Warme als angenehm
empfunden wird (± 30 cm).
B. Bestrahlungsdauer:
Mit einer Behandlung von taglich 2 x
15 Min. erzielt man die besten Ergeb-
nisse. Die Behandlung kann beliebig
oft wiederholt werden.
Kosmetische Behandiung
Nach Entfernen des Make-up öffnen sich die Hautporen unter
Einwirkung von Infrarot-Strahlen: Dies ermöglicht eine tiefen-
