7. CODE GENERATION
Code self-generation procedure for GW 20483 sensors:
A = Check that the three power batteries and the clip connections
are all correctly in place.
B = Press and hold the "CODE GENERATION" button.
C = Close jumper S1 which enables casual code generation for
the sensor.
D = Hold the "CODE GENERATION" pressed for a further three
seconds until the red transmission led indicator on the base
flashes rapidly, then release the button.
E = Open jumper S1.
This condition is compulsory, if it is not implemented the sensor will trigger a tamper alarm.
F = Enter the programming section on the control unit, then enter the sensor memorization menu and perform
the self-learning procedure for the sensor code.
G = Create a valid transmission by removing the sensor from the base, rotating it slightly, until the red LED
indicator flashes slowly three times; check that the code has been received and recorded to the memory log
on the control unit.
H = Install the sensor in permitted positions, to this purpose please refer to the drawings in the next chapter, and
test them to ensure they work correctly.
8. OPERATING FUNCTIONS
In the event an alarm is triggered, the GW 20483 sensor activates its LED indicator for 5 seconds, it transmits the
information to the control section which triggers the wireless section which transmits to the compatible control unit.
When the information has been transmitted, the control board disables the sensor for 3 minutes to allow the smoke
in the reflection chamber to evacuate and then re-enables it to attempt a reset; at this point, if a large amount of
smoke is still present, it disables the sensor for 3 minutes and then tries again, otherwise, if the situation is back
to normal, it will send a RESET transmission to the compatible control unit.
The control section enables the transmitter for the transmissions listed in the chart below:
ALARM fire.
SURVEILLANCE that consists in a
particular code sent cyclically according to
the timing set in the relative chart.
RESET after the automatic
reinstatement sequence after an alarm.
TAMPER event generated
jumper S1 is left enabled by mistake.
