OPERATION
1. Make sure all connections are tightly secured.
2. Ensure the collection cup (3) and lid (4) are securely and correctly positioned on the main
skimmer body (1) and that the drain plug is in place or collection cup drain hose (22) is
attached.
3. The water level adjustment dial (7) can be turned through 360
obtain the appropriate water level for either a wet or dry skim (see below).
4. You will feel some resistance on the dial at 180
level increases, allowing finer adjustment.
Please note: Just before this resistance point is the best water
level to begin with, after initial setup period.
5. It is recommended that you do not use the higher water level
until the skimmer has fully bedded in (approx. 3-5 weeks) and
only if required.
6. Once bedded in, you can adjust the venturi air valve (18) to
increase the air pressure that the venturi creates. This will intensify the micro-bubble
production and, as you begin to close the valve, you will see the density of micro-bubbles in
the skimmer increase, increasing the volume of air pulled into the venturi.

INITIAL OPERATION

1. Once correctly assembled and positioned, plug in and switch on the pump.
2. Turn water level adjustment dial to its lowest position. Let the pump run for 24-48 hours to
allow the skimmer to establish itself before adjusting it to a wetter or dry skim.
3. It may take up to 3-5 weeks for the skimmer to become
stable and to reduce the amount of bubbles passed back to
the tank. Please note: these bubbles are completely safe.
4. We recommend you check your level frequently and use the
collection cup drain hose (22) provided to avoid over-
skimming accidents.
5. The biological output of your aquarium will vary daily and
hourly depending on stocking, feeding and additives used.
This could result in changes in the amount of skimmate
produced and therefore adjustments are required whenever there is a change in any of the
above.
6. Once the skimmer is established and the water level is stable within the collection cup, turn
the water level adjustment dial (7) to control the water level within the main chamber and
cone to the desired foam consistency.
DRY SKIMMING
1. Turn water level adjustment dial (7) until the micro-bubbles
fill approx. 10-15% of the collection cup cone (see diagram).
2. The micro-bubbles produce a dense foam layer which rises
to the top of the cone where it collects until the dry foam
overflows into the collection cup.
3. The result is a dry foam, consisting of concentrated waste
material, which may condense into a dark liquid.
