Sub VS8
The control and sockets panel is
on the rear of the speaker,
recessed compared to the edges
of the cabinet to give the various
components better protection
even during transport.
The controls are clear, effective
and user-friendly right from first
use.
Connections can be made in
mono or stereo mode, without
complications and with no need
for preliminary settings.
1-2. INPUTS: line inputs - balanced Combo sockets (XLR and JACK compatible).
Able to connect all common sound sources: mixers, CD players, keyboards, etc.
(N.B.: in practice everything except microphones and turntables).
You can connect a mono signal (to either of the two inputs) or a stereo signal
using both inputs; if a stereo source is used, the signal from the two channels
is combined and then sent to the internal system.
N.B.: you can also connect the same mono signal to both inputs, to ensure there is no loss of signal. This
connection can be simplified by using the optional link cable illustrated in the "Connection Cables" section.
3-4. OUTPUTS: line outputs – balanced Jack sockets.
Allow the signals received at the respective inputs, suitably "frequency filtered",
to be re-sent to other speaker systems.
These outputs are generally used to send the signal to "satellite" speakers used to
reproduce the range of frequencies above that covered by the sub-woofer itself.
With a stereo signal the input signal is filtered, cutting off the lowest frequencies (reserved for the
Sub VS8); then:
- the Left Input signal is sent to the Left Output for sending to the Left satellite speaker;
- the Right Input signal is sent to the Right Output for sending to the Right satellite speaker;
With just one signal connected to the sub-woofer (mono signal or a stereo signal connected to two separate
sub-woofers: one sub-woofer for each channel) only the output corresponding to the input used is utilised.
NOTE I: the Sub VS8 outputs carry a line signal, i.e. with no power amplification, which is thus suitable
for connection to electronic devices - in this case usually active speaker inputs. If passive speakers
are used, connect these outputs to the inputs of the amplification systems (processors, power
amplifiers, etc.) supplying the speakers you intend to use. If necessary, adjust the levels of the
sub-woofer or the satellite speakers to obtain the sound proportions you require.
