3 DIGITAL I/O block
SDI INPUT (serial digital video/audio input)
connectors (BNC type)
The upper connector operates as the serial digital
video/audio input connector. Depending on the input
mode setting from an external computer, the connector
accepts serial digital signals of one of the four systems
of 525- and 625-component, NTSC- and PAL-
composite.
When the power of the unit is on, the lower connector
outputs the signal obtained by waveforming the signal
supplied to the upper connector (active-through
output).
AUDIO INPUT (AES/EBU) connectors (BNC type)
Connect two-line (CH1/2 and CH3/4) digital audio
signals of AES/EBU format. By installing the optional
BDKP-E1002 audio input board, input of up to four
lines (CH1/2, CH3/4, CH5/6 and CH7/8) is enabled.
CLOCK INPUT connector (BNC type)
Accepts a clock signal for external synchronization of
parallel transport output.

OUTPUT 1/2 (serial bit stream output) connectors
(BNC type)
The MPEG-2 serial bit stream output connector.
Depending on the internal setting, it can supply either
the DVB serial (conforming to DVB-ASI standards) or
SDDI (conforming to SDDI standards) transport
output.
For the internal setting, refer to the descriptions in
"Internal Switches on the IO-158 Board" in the Installation
Manual.
MONITOR OUTPUT VIDEO (SDI) connector
(BNC type)
Outputs the component serial digital video signal. No
audio signal is output from this connector.
PARALLEL (parallel bit stream output) connector
(D-sub 25-pin, conforming to LVDS standards,
female)
The MPEG-2 parallel bit stream output connector;
supplies the parallel transport output conforming to
DVB standards.
Note
The OUTPUT 1/2 (serial bit stream output) connectors
and PARALLEL (parallel bit stream output) connector
cannot supply signal at the same time.
SPARE connector (half-pitch 50-pin, pin type,
female)
For future use.
