(2) "1-16" indicator lights
LEDs associated with the numerical keys (1), indicating the zones or groups of zones selected.
(3) "RECORD" key
Used for recording a message of maximum 30 seconds duration in the memory of the BM 3616 console. The message is recorded using
the console microphone.
(4) "RECORD" indicator light
This LED is related to the digital recorder of the console. The way the LED lights up gives the following indications:
• LED on in continuous mode, to signal that the message recording function has been selected by means of the "RECORD" key.
• LED flashing, to indicate that message recording is in progress.
(5) "ALARM" indicator light
This LED lights up when the alarm function has been activated by means of the "ALARM" key.
(6) "ALARM" key
This key is enabled and programmed by means of a special menu on the CP 3100 control unit, making it possible to transmit a mi-
crophone announcement or alarm signal (message or acoustic tone) stored on the CP 3100 control unit, with absolutely priority over
any other device engaging the system. When the alarm function is activated, it is also possible to command the switching of a relay with
normally closed contact (NC) and/or a relay with normally open contact (NO) located on the IO 3250 digital INPUT/OUTPUT boards con-
tained in the MB 3200 sub-racks of the system. The command is subordinate only to any preceding alarm ("EMERGENCY" or "FIRE-
MAN" event) controlled by other users or devices of the system. Transmission is made to all the zones and/or groups of zones defined
by means of the configuration menu on the control unit.
(7) "CLEAR" indicator light
This LED lights up when the "CLEAR" key is usable.
(8) "CLEAR" key
Used for cancelling the operation or procedure in progress, or to exit from a menu and return to the previous menu.
(9) Liquid crystal display
Back-lighted LCD for displaying the various menus of the unit, the information received from the CP 3100 control unit, the various dia-
logue messages for local operation, and the console configurations. To save energy, a timer shuts off the display back-lighting after 90
seconds have elapsed from the last key pressed.
(10) "F1" - "F2" - "F3" indicator lights
These LEDs are associated to the three function keys "F1", "F2", and "F3", and light up when the functions associated with the keys
are enabled.
(11) "F1" - "F2" - "F3" function keys
These keys are programmed by means of a special menu on the CP 3100 control unit. Depending on the programming made, each of
these keys can control one of the functions described below:
• playback of an audio signal (message or acoustic tone) recorded on the CP 3100 control unit (remote playback).
• control of a relay with normally closed contact (NC) and/or a relay with normally open contact (NO), located on the IO 3250 digital IN-
PUT/OUTPUT boards contained in the MB 3200 sub-racks.
(12) "GENERAL CALL" indicator light
This LED lights up when the "general call" function has been enabled using the key (13).
(13) "GENERAL CALL" key
This key is enabled by means of a special menu on the CP 3100 control unit, and is used for selecting all the zones and groups of zo-
nes associated with the numerical keys on the console (from "1" to "16"). The "GENERAL CALL" function allows a microphone an-
nouncement or pre-recorded message to be sent to all the zones.
IMPORTANT NOTE
• Any numerical keys that have not been configured on the control unit cannot be enabled.
(14) "PLAY" key
Used for playing back the message recorded and stored in the memory of the BM 3616 console (see the section "LOCAL MESSAGE
RECORDING/PLAYBACK").
(15) "ENTER" indicator light
This LED lights up when the "ENTER" key is pressed.
(16) "ENTER" key
Used for confirming an operation or storing a parameter.
(17) "PLAY" indicator light
This LED lights up in continuous mode when the local message playback function is selected. It flashes when a local message is cur-
rently being played.
(18) "PTT" key
Used for activating/disactivating the console microphone for transmitting an announcement in the audio zones selected. The announ-
cement can be preceded by a pre-announcement signal (chime).
(19) "PTT" indicator light
This LED lights up when the "PTT" key is pressed, or during local message playback.
(20) "REMOTE FAULT" indicator light
This LED flashes when an alarm is in progress caused by malfunctioning of a system component other than the console.
(21) "COMMUNICATION" indicator light
This LED flashes when the BM 3616 communicates with the CP 3100 control unit. It goes off when the communication is interrupted
(communication timeout).
(22) "POWER" indicator light
This LED lights up when the power supply of the digital circuits generated inside the console is correct.
(23) "LOCAL FAULT" indicator light
This LED flashes when an alarm is in progress caused by a malfunction on the BM 3616 console. The possible malfunctions are:
• EEPROM memory failure.
• EEPROM memory not configured (new).
• incorrect or incomplete configuration of the console parameters.
• incorrect power supply.
• console reset by the operator.
• communication problems.
• console reset by the hardware (watchdog reset).
