CAUTION! The range specified applies to a device operation in the open area, it means an ideal
condition. In case there are any obstacles between the range of a transmitter and a receiver, the
following approximate range loss may occur: brick: 10 ÷ 40%, wood, gypsum: 5 ÷ 20%, concrete:
40 ÷ 80%, metal: 90 ÷ 100%, glass: 10 ÷ 20%. Overhead and underground power lines and
GSM transmitters placed in a close distance from the devices have also a negative influence on
the operating range.
CAUTION! Cooperation with EFC-02 Mini and EFC-01 controllers is possible only after „cloning"
of physical transmitters into a mobile application.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Radio power switch RWS-311C / Z is used for a remote (radio) control of all kinds of electrical
devices such as: motors, lighting fittings, driveway gates, pumps, garden lighting, etc. The device
operates on a protocol compatible with the wireless exta free system and cooperates with the
system transmitters. Radio waves on 868.32 MHz frequency were used for the transmission
between a transmitter and a receiver. The receiver has a hermetic casing (IP56) and therefore
it can be mounted outdoor and can operate in difficult weather conditions. The RWS-311C/Z
switch is supplied directly by 230 V AC. It is equipped with 1 NO relay outputs. The relay output
capacity is 16 A / 250 V AC 4000 VA AC1. By means of RWS-311C/Z it is possible to control in-
dependently four electric circuits maximally. Cooperation with the wireless exta free system gives
a wide range of control possibilities. For example, after the application of EFC-02 Mini or EFC-01
controller, the switch can be controlled by means of mobile devices (tablets, smartphones) and
the same it can automate certain control processes.
In case of RWS-311C/Z, the set includes in addition to the switch, a 4-channel remote control
P-257/4. Other transmitters (maximum number is 113) can be assigned to the receiver according
to Table 1.
OPERATION MODES:
The operation modes of RWS-311C/Z are adjusted individually for each channel. The above can
be done by means of a switch: operation mode.
Bistable mode
By pressing the same transmitter's button the relay output of RWS-311C/Z is switched on or
witched off. At first, the transmitter's buttons must be programmed and added to a receiver's
memory. In case of the bistable mode, the operation mode switch must be in BISTABLE position.
Time mode
The relay output of RWS-311D/Z is activated by pressing a transmitter's button added to a re-
ceiver's memory. The relay is automatically switched off after the adjusted time is over. Pressing
the same button again during time countdown will deactivate the output relay (not rettrigable).
In case of RWS-311C/Z, time is adjusted on potentiometers in the range of 1 second to 4,5 min.
Potentiometers are independent for each channel. For time mode the operation mode switch
must be in MONOSTABLE position.
In case of RWS-311C/Z set, as a default setting buttons 1, 2, 3, 4 of P-257/4 remote controller
are added to corresponding channels of a receiver.

MOUNTING
1. Check if the supply voltage is in accordance with the device rated voltage: 230 V / 50 Hz.
2. Disconnect the device power supply by means of a proper protection device (a fuse) or
remove the fuse [in case of MCB minature circuit-breakers change the switch into - switch off
position - 0].
3. CAUTION! Check if there is no voltage on connection cables by means of a special measure
equipment.
4. Remove 4 screws holding the receiver's cover.
5. In a chosen place drill 2 wholes in a wall and place the wall plugs in them.
6. Remove the top cover and the screw cap protections, next make wholes in the casing in
order to screw it to the wall, afterward place the screw protection caps (it protects against
water inflow).
7. Place the wires through the cable glands into the receiver and tighten the glands.
8. Connect wires according to the connection diagram.
9. Place the antenna.
10. Adjust an appropriate operation mode in a receiver by means of a microswitch (bistable /
time).
11. Adjust time by means of a potentiometer for time mode (1 s ÷ 4,5 min).
12. Place the cover back, tighten the cover's screws, switch on power supply from the mains
(230 V) and check the operation.
13. For each device the remote control was programmed by the manufacturer.
CAUTION! The device should be connected by a qualified electrician, who acts in accord-
ance with the service manual and the device functions.
During mounting it is required to follow the below procedures:
•
the receiver should be mounted at a higher level
•
the antenna should be pointed upward
•
mounting directly on metal elements and near over- and underground medium and high
electrical power lines as well as GSM transmitters should be avoided as it has a negative
influence on th operation range
•
installation should be performed by means of a copper wire with 0,5 do 2,5 mm
tion in a double insulation
•
power supply circuit must be protected by an appropriate fuse or switch to disconnect the
circuit during overload as well as a 2-pole switch with a mi
•
casing after programming must be properly twisted in order to prevent the moisture ingress
•
each time the position of the operation mode switch or the position of the jumper during
transmitter programming/deleting is changed, it is important that the RWS-311C/Z switch is
diconnected from power supply.
PROGRAMMING:
One receiver can cooperate with maximum 113 transmitters. Full receiver's memory is signalled
by a quick pulsation of „NAUKA" („LEARN") LED while adding a transmitter.
Programming:
1. Disconnect power supply from the device and check if there is no voltage on connection
terminals RWS-311D/Z.
2. Change the Z1 jumper from P position (Operation) into N (Nauka / Learn) position.
3. Switch on power supply – LED „NAUKA"/ „LEARN" switches on.
4. Assign the transmitter's buttons to appropriate K1,K2,K3,K4 channels of RWS-311C/Z
receiver - in order to do the above press:
-
for P-257/2 and RNK-02 transmitters:
button no. 1 – it results in adding P1,P2 buttons to K1, K2 channels
-
for P-257/4 and RNK-04 transmitters:
1. button no. 1 – it results in adding P1,P2 buttons to K1, K2 channels
2. button no. 3 – it results in adding P3,P4 buttons to K3, K4 channels
3. button no. 4 – it results in adding P1,P2,P3,P4 buttons to K1,K2, K3, K4 channels

2. button no. 3 – it results in adding P3,P4 buttons to K3, K4 channels
3. button no. 4 – it results in adding P1,P2,P3,P4 buttons to K1,K2, K3, K4 channels, an
analogous functionality refers to 5,7,8 buttons of P-256/8 remote controller.
5. After LED „NAUKA"/"LEARN" switches off, press the same transmitter's button. LED diode
pulsates several times and switches on constantly. The receiver is ready to add another
remote controller (maximum 113).
6. After all of the remote controllers have been added, disconnect power supply from the device
and check if there is no voltage on connection terminals.
7. Change the jumper into Z1 position, from N (nauka /learn) into P (praca/operation) position.
8. Switch on power supply from the mains and check the proper device operation by means of
added transmitters.
According to Table 1 only Zamel F series transmitters (that belong to the exta free system) can
be added to the receiver's memory. Adding a transmitter by a different manufacturer or of other
series than "F series" will be cancelled by RWS-311C/Z receiver.
DELETING:
1. Disconnect power supply from the device and check if there is no voltage on connection
terminals of RWS-311C/Z
2. Change the jumper from „PRACA"/"OPERATION" position into „KASOWANIE"/"DELETING"
3. Switch on power supply from the mains – LED „NAUKA"/"LEARN" switches on.
4. Wait for about 3 seconds until LED diode switches off.
5. After the LED diode switches off, all transmitters added into the receiver's memory will be
deleted.
6. Disconnect power supply and check if there is no voltage on connection terminals.
7. Change the jumper into "PRACA"/"OPERATION" position.
8. Switch on power supply from the mains and check if the transmitters were properly deleted
(none of the transmitters previously added to the receiver should operate).
