Eine Packung sera siporax und sera biopur bewirken neben-
bei, daß der Filter durch das zusätzliche Gewicht stabilisiert
wird.
12. Hängen Sie nun den sera Bio-Innenfilter an der Halteleiste ein.
Dabei ist behutsam vorzugehen – es dauert einige Sekunden,
bis die Filterkammern voll Wasser gelaufen sind.
13. Das Aquarium wird jetzt wieder aufgefüllt. Dann wird der sera
Bio-Innenfilter in Betrieb genommen (Netzstecker von Pumpe
und Heizer einstecken) und die Filterabdeckung aufgelegt.
Reinigung:
Wenn Sie Ihr Aquarium nicht mit Fischen überbesetzen und die
Tiere korrekt füttern, wird Ihr Filter über einen langen Zeitraum
für kristallklares Wasser sorgen. Eine Vollreinigung ist höchstens
ein- bis zweimal im Jahr erforderlich.
Ziehen Sie dazu die Netzstecker von Pumpe und Heizer und ent-
fernen Sie die Filterabdeckung. Anschließend nehmen Sie die
Geräte heraus.
Öffnen Sie die Pumpenkappe durch leichtes Drehen gegen den
Uhrzeigersinn. Nehmen Sie das Flügelrad mit dem Magneten her-
aus, und spülen Sie alle Teile mit Leitungswasser. Falls notwendig,
reinigen Sie die Teile mit einem Schwamm oder einer weichen
Bürste. Nehmen Sie die Filtermaterialien aus dem Filter und
spülen Sie diese unter lauwarmem Leitungswasser.

Filterkohle sollten nach sechs Wochen grundsätzlich erneuert
werden.
Mulm, der sich auf dem Boden des Filters gesammelt hat, saugen
Sie einfach zwischendurch mit dem Schlauch ab, den Sie zum
Wasserwechsel verwenden. sera biopur und/oder sera siporax
sollten Sie wirklich nur bei grober Verunreinigung aus dem Filter
nehmen und am besten mit Aquariumwasser spülen. Benutzen
Sie zur Reinigung des Filters oder der Filtermaterialien niemals
Seife oder andere Reinigungsmittel. Achten Sie auch darauf, daß
der Eimer, in dem Sie die Filterbestandteile spülen, und die ver-
wendeten Bürsten absolut frei von Waschmittelrückständen
sind.
Allgemeine Pflege:
Kontrollieren Sie den Wasserstand bzw. die Stellung des Absperr-
schiebers regelmäßig und ersetzen Sie verdunstetes Wasser,
damit die Oberflächenabsaugung in Funktion bleibt und die
Mindesteintauchtiefe des Regelheizers nicht unterschritten wird.
Sie erhöhen die Standzeit und halten die Reinigungskapazität des
Filters auf seinem hohen Niveau, wenn Sie bei jedem Teilwasser-
wechsel gleichzeitig die sera biofibres (= oberste Filterschicht)
aus dem Filter nehmen und ausspülen bzw. erneuern.
Sicherheitshinweis:
Ziehen Sie vor jedem Hantieren im Aquarium immer alle
Netzstecker!
Beachten Sie die Gebrauchsinformation der Aquariumheizung!
Tip für den Urlaub:
Die Filterkammer mit dem Oberflächenabsauger hat eine geringe
Durchflußrate und arbeitet dadurch als überwiegend biologisch
aktive Kammer. Achten Sie auf ausreichend hohen Wasserstand in
Ihrem Aquarium, so daß immer etwas Wasser durch den
Oberflächenabsauger einfließt. Sollte Ihnen diese Überwachung
des Wasserstandes einmal nicht möglich sein (z.B. Urlaub), entfer-
nen Sie vorübergehend den Absperrschieber der Oberflächen-
absaugung. So sichern Sie in jedem Fall die Versorgung der
Kammer mit zu reinigendem Aquariumwasser, und die Bakterien-
populationen im Inneren bleiben aktiv.

Efficient filtration is only the basis for a successful aquarium along
with healthy, active and colourful ornamental fishes.
sera internal biofilter B 200 / B 400 was developed according to
scientific findings. It has a very large filter volume of – B 200: 9 li-
tres / B 400: 11.5 litres – for adding different mechanical and bio-
logical filter media. The filter is decorative, space-saving and does
not attract attention. It fits tightly to the glass and will not float,
therefore no gaps, which are dangerous to the fish, occur.
Installation in a new aquarium and in an already
established aquarium:
A Installation in a new aquarium
1.
Introduce the filter into an empty, dry aquarium and check for
proper fit. Attach the filter cover and determine the appro-
priate height. The sera internal biofilter can be easily mount-
ed with all aquarium canopies or tops. The top of the filter
should be about 1 cm (0.5 ins.) below the top edge of the
aquarium. Mark the mounting position of the bracket on the
outside aquarium glass with a wax pen or magic marker.

Place the aquarium in a vertical position with the bottom
being the area where the filter will be mounted. Make sure
you rest the aquarium on a level surface that is smooth and
clean. You can also put a blanket or a piece of Styrofoam
underneath to protect the aquarium from being damaged.

Clean the surface on which the bracket is to be glued thor-
oughly with pure alcohol. The glass surface must be clean, dry
and free from grease.
4.
Also clean the parts of the bracket which have to be glued,
with alcohol (do not use acetone!).
5.
Apply the special glue evenly onto the areas of the bracket
that are provided for this purpose (fig. B).
6.
Carefully glue the bracket onto the clean glass surface (in
accordance with your markings) and at the same time apply
some pressure. Make sure that the hooks are facing up
towards the aquarium opening (fig. C
out when pressing the bracket against the glass must be
immediately removed.
7.
During the drying period (24 hours) leave the aquarium in the
same vertical position.
8.
24 hours later place the aquarium in its final position and clean
the glass thoroughly with plenty of water (do not use deter-
gent!).
9.
Insert the sera aquarium heater thermostat into the small
outer compartment (fig. D).
10. Insert the pump into the small compartment in the centre of
the filter and gently push the return tube through the open-
ing. With the adjustable inlet screen you can adapt the surface
suction to the correct water level. Make sure that a sufficient
amount of water can always flow into the surface skimmer fil-
ter chamber (fig. D).
11. Now fill the filter with media. Extended performance of the fil-
ter media as well as the best possible biological and mechani-
cal filtration can be achieved as follows: For the bottom layer
use sera siporax, which offers a large surface for bacteria, and
cover it with sera biofibres fine or coarse. Put sera biopur as
a mechanical and biological pre-filter on top and finish with
sera filter wool or again sera biofibres fine (this media ar-
rangement is pictured on the package).
One advantage of adding sera siporax and sera biopur is that
the filter will now be stabilized as a result of the additional
weight.
12. Now hook the sera internal biofilter into the bracket.
13. Fill the aquarium completely with water. Then condition the
water with sera aqutan. Now put the filter into operation by
plugging the pump and heater in and putting on the filter
cover. One hour later add sera nitrivec (follow instructions for
