Installation & Connection
Choose an installation area where sufficient cooling is ensured. Fasten the amplifier via the screw
holes on both edges.
During installation, make sure that your engine is switched off. It is recommended to disconnect the
battery during installation.
Power supply
Connect the B+ terminal on the amplifier to the + terminal of your car battery. Connect the GND
terminal to the chassis of your car or to the – terminal of the car battery. For these connections, you
have to use cables of at least 4mm diameter. In order to avoid short-circuits, it is recommended to
insert a fuse between the amplifier and the + terminal of the car battery. Note: Make sure that the
contact points are clean and free of oxide and dirt.
The REMOTE terminal (18) allows to switch the amplifier on and off and has to be connected to a 12V
power source. Some head units are fitted with a terminal called "Amp On". If this is not the case or if
you want to switch it on manually, you can connect the REMOTE terminal to the + cable and mount a
switch. Warning: Do not connect the REMOTE terminal to a power cable which is permanently
powered, otherwise your amplifier will never be switched off.
Input signal
Your amplifier is fitted with 2 RCA sockets that have to be connected to the pre-amplified output of
your head unit. Use screened cable of good quality for this connection.
Speakers
The amplifier can be used to drive one speaker (e.g. a subwoofer) or two speakers with a (common)
impedance of at least 4 and maximum 8 Ohm. If you connect two speakers, you have to connect the +
and the – terminals on the amplifier to the + and – terminal of your speakers. If you connect only one
speaker (bridged mode), you need to connect it to the extreme left and extreme right terminals (+
terminal left channel and – terminal right channel).
Extra output signal
The two LINE OUT RCA sockets are used to send the input signal to another amplifier. Thus you can
drive several amplifiers and speakers.
Settings
The input sensitivity of the amplifier lies between 200mV and 6V which makes it suitable for almost all
head units. In order to make the right settings, put the volume control of your head unit to the centre
position. Rotate the GAIN control to a position giving a medium sound level. Thus, you will get the best
ratio between the sound and the sound-to-noise ratio.
Depending on the type of speakers, you need to set the CROSSOVER switch to the suitable position:
BASS
FLAT
TREBLE
If the CROSSOVER switch of the amplifier is set to BASS or TREBLE, you can set the required
crossover frequency via the FREQUENCY knob. The limits are set to 50Hz and 250Hz.
In the ON position the BASS BOOST switch amplifies the reproduction of the low frequencies.
If you drive one subwoofer(s)
If you drive broad band speakers
If you drive only midrange speakers and tweeters
