Introduction
This volumetric sensor uses infra-red passive technology. The
IRPI800M is part of the range of radio peripherals used with
the Domonial 800++ control panels. It can also be used with
the radio modules Galaxy (C077) and Vista (5882EUHS). If
you are using the IRPI800M with one of these modules, please
refer to Step 3 of this installation notice.

Mounting & Installation
Do not orient the sensor towards
Mounting Guidelines
Install the sensor at a height of 2.30 m – 2.70 m.
Avoid direct or reflected sunlight.
Aim sensor away from windows or heating/cooling
devices.
The sensor must have a clear line of sight to the protected
area.
The sensor must be installed in a location with a minimum
radio signal level of 2/10.
Installing
Using a small screwdriver, remove the fixing screw from the
front cover (if installed) and push in the housing latch at
the bottom of the sensor. Gently pull apart the housings.

Push outward on the PCB latch and lift the PCB out of the
housing.

Tamper knockout
Mount the rear housing flat against a wall or in a corner,
(screws not supplied). When using a mounting bracket (see
the Accessories section of the Specifications) follow the
instructions supplied with the bracket (see note 2).
Replace the PCB.
Note: Mounting the sensor in an angle will render the
wall tamper unusable.
3
Registering the Sensor
Insert the battery supplied, respecting the polarities.
For use with radio modules C077 and 5882EUHS of the Galaxy
and Vista control panels, the tamper switch must be kept closed
during insertion of the battery. This procedure must be adhered
to each time the battery is changed.
Registration of Galaxy and Vista panels: Activate the tamper
switch during the registration procedure.
Warning: There is a risk of explosion if the wrong battery
is used. Replace only with a battery recommended by the
manufacturer. Throw away used batteries according to the
manufacturer's instructions.
Registration on a Domonial panel
Registration is the procedure that associates the detector with the
control panel. This operation requires a programming tool based on
PDA or PC, or the TCU keypad. The complete procedure is
described in the user manuals for these tools.
Connect the programming tool to the control panel and enter the
programming mode.
Select the item Add New Device.
Activate the sensor's tamper switch. A confirmation message
appears after several seconds, indicating the registration of the
sensor at the control panel, together with the radio signal level
and the serial number of the device.

Setting Sensitivity and Testing the Sensor
Set the sensitivity appropriate for the application (see the options
below), and replace the cover. Begin the walk-test as soon as the
LED stops blinking (see the LED Operation section). Walk
through the detection zone(s), observing the sensor's LED. The
LED indicates detection of movement and transmission of an
alarm.
The absolute range of a sensor unit is subject to variation due to
different clothing types, backgrounds and ambient temperature.
For this reason, you should ensure that the most likely intruder
routes are well within the sensor's detection zones, and that
walk-testing is carried out along those routes.
Lowest Sensitivity: 3-5 steps (Low Sensitivity and Pulse Count 2).
Note: This is the recommended setting for applications with pets.
