8. Operation
■ STARTING ENGINE
WARNING
The cutting head will start rotating
upon the engine starts.
1. Rest the unit on a flat, firm place. Keep
the cutting head off the ground and
clear of surrounding objects as it will
start rotating upon starting of the
engine.
2. Open the fuel shutoff. (OP5-1,
BK3500FL & BK4500FL only)
3. Move the choke lever to the closed
position. (OP6-1)(OP7-1)
4. Set the ignition switch(OP8-a) to the "I"
position. While pulling the throttle
lever(OP8-1-2), push the throttle set
button(OP8-3), and release the
throttle(OP8-2), then the throttle lever is
in to the "start position".
5. While holding the unit firmly, pull out the
starter rope quickly until engine fires.

IMPORTANT
• Avoid pulling the rope to its end or
returning it by releasing the knob. Such
actions can cause starter failures.
6. Move the choke lever downward to
open the choke. And restart the engine.

7. Allow the engine to warm up for a
several minutes before starting
operation.
NOTE
1. When restarting the engine immediately
after stopping it, leave the choke open.
2. Overchoking can make the engine hard
to start due to excess fuel. When the
engine failed to start after several
attempts, open the choke and repeat
pulling the rope, or remove the spark
plug and dry it.

8. Fonctionnement
■ MISE EN MARCHE DU MOTEUR
AVERTISSEMENT
Faire attention que la lame de coupe se
mette à tourner dès que le moteur
démarre.
1. Poser la machine dans un endroit plat
et ferme. Ne pas poser la tête de coupe
sur le sol et dégager tout objet pouvant
être projeté par la lame qui se met à
tourner dès que le moteur démarre.
2. Ouvrir l'arrivée d'essence. (OP5-1,
BK3500FL et BK4500FL uniquement)
3. Placer le starter en position fermée.
(OP6-1)(OP7-1)
4. Placer l'interrupteur de contact(OP8-a)
sur la position de démarrage "I". Tout
en tirant sur la
d'accélérateur(OP8-1-2), appuyer sur le
bouton(OP8-3) de verrouillage pour
libérer l'accélérateur(OP8-2), le placer
alors sur la position de démarrage
"Start".
5. Tout en maintenant fermement la
machine, tirer la poignée de démarrage
(OP9).
IMPORTANT
• Eviter de tirer à fond sur la corde de
démarrage ou de relâcher brutalement
la poignée. Ces opérations risquent
d'endommager le système
démarrage.
6. Ramener le levier du starter vers le bas
pour le remettre en position ouverte. Et
redémarrer le moteur. (OP6)(OP7)
7. Laisser le moteur chauffer pendant
plusieurs minutes avant de commencer
à travailler.
REMARQUE
1. Pour redémarrer le moteur aussitôt
après l'avoir arrêté, laisser le starter en
position ouverte.
2. Trop tirer sur le starter risque de rendre
le moteur difficile à démarrer à cause
de l'excès de carburant. Si le moteur
refuse de démarrer après plusieurs
tentatives infructueuses, placer le
starter en position ouverte et tirer à
nouveau plusieurs fois la corde de
démarrage ou enlever et sécher la
bougie.
