IEC cartridge alignment gauge
The Clearaudio
precision and durability. Designed for use with all radial tonearms of any effective length, it sets the
geometry according the IEC standard (where the minimum groove radius is 60.325 mm).
By simultaneously setting the overhang and offset angle to a single reference point, the precise
alignment of your tonearm and cartridge is easier than ever before - so there's no longer any need
for the otherwise repetitive procedure in which the overhang and offset angle were each determined
separately, with each previous setting getting all too easily lost again!

Prerequisites
In order to achieve accurate alignment of your tonearm and cartridge, you must first ensure that
(a) the tonearm's VTA setting is correct, and (b) the cartridge's tracking force is not higher than the
recommended value.
For more specific information about the optimum VTA and tracking force, please see the relevant
tonearm and cartridge manufacturers' user manuals.
