This document explains the fault codes and versions displayed on
the front and rear panel LED's during the initialization process of Ci
amplifiers. .
When power switch is turned to the "On" position, the amplifier begins an initialization
process.
This process has three phases:
1. All LED's On
2. Amp Faults and Version on LED's
3. Channel initialization
The "All LED's On" phase occurs first when power is turned "On". All the LED's will light
for about one second.
Then the Signal LED's will display the revision of the amplifier firmware (which is separate
from the NexSys module firmware) and the "Mute" LED's will display any amplifier faults.
If there are no faults, all of the "Mute" LED's will be off.
Please note the following faults for 8 channel Ci amplifiers:
- CH1 Mute LED: Amplifier Heatsink Thermal Fault or Transformer Thermal Fault
- CH2 Mute LED: Reserved
- CH3 Mute LED: 5V and 3.3V Monitor Fault
- CH4 Mute LED: AC Line Voltage Fault
- CH5 Mute LED: FET Driver Voltage Fault
- CH6 Mute LED: +/- High Voltage Fault
- CH7 Mute LED: Unregulated 15V Fault
- CH8 Mute LED: -5V Fault
Please note the following faults for 4 channel Ci amplifiers:
- CH1 Mute LED: Amplifier Heatsink Thermal Fault and/or Transformer Thermal Fault
- CH2 Mute LED: 5V and/or 3.3V Monitor Fault and/or AC Line Voltage Fault
- CH3 Mute LED: FET Driver Voltage Fault and/or +/- High Voltage Fault
- CH4 Mute LED: Unregulated 15V Fault and/or -5V Fault
The Amp Faults and Version phase will be displayed for a minimum of one second or as
long as faults are active. The lit Signal LED's represent the binary version number. Once all
the faults are cleared, the amplifier will continue to the "Channel Initialization" phase.
Next, all the "Signal", "ACL/IGM" and "Fault" LED's will shut off and each channel will
sequentially initialize. During "Channel Initialization", the signal and ACL/IGM LED will light
and then they will all turn off. The channel is now active.
