Smoking and the use of naked fl ames while
charging batteries are strictly forbidden.
Avoid fl ames or sparks in the vicinity of
batteries.
Avoid incorrectly connecting battery
cables. The red clamp must be placed on
the battery's positive terminal and the black
clamp on the battery's negative terminal.
Stand to the side of the battery and with
your face a good distance from it when
placing the clamps on the battery.
The workshop charger's contacts and
clamps can cause sparks to form during use,
and so it must not be used in the proximity
of combustible liquids, gases, etc.
Do not expose the workshop charger to
water, damp or splashes.
The workshop charger must not be used
outdoors in the rain.
The workshop charger must be placed on
a fl at surface and stand upright during use.
Never place the workshop charger inside
a vehicle or close to the vehicle's engine
compartment.
Always place the workshop charger as far
from the battery as the cord will allow.
Never cover the workshop charger.
The charging clamps must never come into
contact with each other or be fi tted to the
same conductive object, as this may cause a
short-circuit.
Make sure that the leads do not get caught
between moving parts in the engine
compartment, such as drive belts, chains or
ventilators.
Disconnect the charger from the mains
before connecting or disconnecting the
cables.
Never attempt to charge a frozen, broken or
defective battery.
Never attempt to charge a battery that is
not rechargeable. Never recharge batteries
if the capacity (in Ah) is less than the
minimum capacity of the workshop charger.
Use safety glasses and safety gloves when
charging batteries.
Battery fl uid contains sulphuric acid. Be
careful when charging batteries with the
workshop charger.
Do not rub your eyes with your fi ngers if
you have been touching a battery! Even
small particles of deposits from the battery
can be acidic and, in the worst case, may
cause eye damage.
If you get battery fl uid on your skin, you
must rinse it immediately with plenty of
water, wash with soap and rinse clean.
If you get battery fl uid in your eyes, rinse
them immediately with running water
for at least 10 minutes and seek medical
assistance.
