INSTRUCTIONS & PARTS LIST FOR NO. 2 1/2 SERIES LEVER TORQUE CONTROL TOOLS
Read and understand "Safety Instructions For Air Tools" and these instructions before operating

AIR SUPPLY

The efficiency of the tool is dependent on the proper supply of clean dry air at 90 psig (6.2 bar). The use of a line filter, pressure
regulator, and lubricator will insure maximum output and life of tools. Before connecting tool, blow out the air line to remove water
and dirt which may have accumulated.
HOSE AND HOSE CONNECTIONS
Supply hose should be not less than 3/8" (10 mm) I.D. Extension hoses should be at least 1/2" (13 mm) I.D. Use couplings and
fittings with at least 3/8" (10 mm) I.D.
LUBRICATION
Use SIOUX No. 288 air motor oil. An airline lubricator, set to deliver 2 to 4 drops per minute, is recommended. If a lubricator is not
used, add .04 oz. (1.2 cc, 12 to 15 drops) of oil into the air inlet twice daily.
Lubricate angle heads every 40 hours with 1/8 oz. (3.5 g) of SIOUX No. 1232A grease.
The clutch and shut off mechanism are lubricated at the factory for 500,000 operations.
Return tool to a factory authorized service center for additional lubrication and/or service.

GENERAL OPERATION

These tools are lever or trigger operated torque control tools. The air motor starts when the operating lever is depressed. (Hold the
lever fully depressed in order to achieve uniform tool performance.) The tool stops automatically when the it reaches its preset
torque. To restart the tool, release the lever and depress. It is normal for the tool to bleed a small amount of air through the
exhaust after the tool has stopped and the lever is still depressed.
The tool provides consistent torque control in the forward (right hand) direction only. A reversible tool does not provide consistent
torque control in the reverse direction. Reversible tools should be used in the left hand rotation only for removing fasteners.
Speed Control
Lever operated tools have a speed control located under the lever. Pistol operated tools have a speed control located on the face
of the trigger. Rotate the speed control in either direction to control the tool speed.
Note: If the tool speed is set too low, the clutch will not release before the tool stalls.
