5.2. Measurement
[ Mes]
After the DA 6000-N has been switched on, it looks for a connected digital pyrometer. During this process,
the main display shows the Baud rate and the menu display shows the address with which a device is being
searched. Whenever the button is pressed a new search will start with the highest Baud rate (38.4 kBd).
The menu structure changes according to the connected device and possibly also depending on the operat-
ing mode of the device, so you see a selection of the following items!
Note:
Before the parameters can be adjusted
the online/offline switch of the pyrometer must be switched to "Online" or "RS"!

display
[ Mes]
Measurement: displays the measured temperature. If there is no input for about 20 sec, the
display jumps back to this menu point. The rotating line shows the measurement readiness.
Emissivity
[Emi ]
Emissivity can be set from 0.200 - 1.000. Some digital pyrometers have an extended emissiv-
ity. The range of adjustment is then automatically adapted. For restricted emissivity values an
invalid entry is possible (e.g. entry of 0.3 for pyrometers with an emissivity range of 0.4 - 1.0),
but is recognized by the pyrometer as the lowest permissible emissivity (0.4).
[Ut
]
Reflected ambient temperature which shall be compensated
°C
(Range of adjustment: OFF, –98.9 °C up to the high-end of the measurement range;
OFF = automatic compensation, normal pyrometer mode)
[I/II]
Switch between one channel operating mode / ratio operating mode
[I/Fl]
Switch between one channel operating mode / flame operating mode
[E1E2]
Emissivity ratio
(adjustable from 0.800 to 1.250)
[%Off]
Minimum intensity for ratio / flame measurement
(ratio measuring: 2.0 % to 50.0 %; flame measuring: 0.0 % - 50.0 %)
[n-Fl]
Soot factor for flame temperature measurement
(adjustable from 0.50 to 2.50)
[Xs
]
Set value for regulators
The set value can be anywhere within the limited measurement range.
(Settings: lowest to highest value in the measurement range)
[Xp %]
Proportional band for regulators
The proportional band is the range, within which there is a proportional connection between the
regulator deviation and the control variable change. (The "strengthening" is
Kp = 100 % / Xp). If the proportional band is set at 0 % (! "strengthening" = ∞), the regulator
operates as a two-point regulator.
A negative set value reverses the effective direction.
(possible entries: –999.9 % to +999.9 %)
[Ti I]
Integration time constant (adjustment time) for regulators
The adjustment time can be given in 2 formats:
In the range of 0.00 to 99.99 sec or from 0:01 min up to 99:99 min. In the first case, the integral
error is updated every 10 ms, in the second case every second. When Ti = 0, no Integration
part is calculated.
(possible entries: 00.00 sec to 99:99 min)
