A. CH 1 SEND - Adjusts the channel-1 SEND level
to external effects devices.
B. CH 2 SEND - Adjusts the channel-2 SEND level
to external effects devices.
C. SEND - Connect SEND cable to external effects
devices at this jack.
D. LOOP - Switch IN to engage the external effects
LOOP.
Switch OUT to bypass.
switch is overridden when the FOOTSWITCH is
plugged in.
E. RETURN - Connect RETURN cable from external
effects devices at this jack.
EFFECTS LOOP - VOLUME BALANCING
• •
• •
NOTE: Before making effects LOOP connections
and balancing the volume levels, first bypass the
effects LOOP with either the LOOP {D} switch or
the FOOTSWITCH, and turn SEND {A} and
RETURN {F} knobs counter-clockwise, down to "1."
Connect external effects device(s) to the T50C.
Next, switch the amplifier to channel-1 and set the
T50C and instrument volume controls to a desired
level. Then engage LOOP {D}. While playing the
instrument, turn SEND {A} and RETURN {F} up
together slowly to the approximate volume level set
in the above step.
bypass and engage; compare volume levels; then
adjust SEND {A} and RETURN {F} together to bal-
ance volume levels as needed. If the effects LOOP
sounds distorted when engaged, reduce the

A, B, C. V9, V10, GROUND - Bias and Balance test points used to
measure output tube Bias and Balance with a voltmeter.
D. BALANCE - Trim adjustment used in conjunction with
Balance test points {A,B} to Balance the power tube
sections of the T50C.
E. BIAS - Trim adjustment used in conjunction with Bias
test points {B,C} to set the output tube Bias.
F. FUSE - Protects the amplifier from electrical faults when the
V9 or V10 tube fails. Replace a blown fuse with same type
and rating only (Refer to SPECIFICATIONS, F2, page 7).
Next replace the tubes in locations V9 & V10 and adjust the
Bias and Balance. If the T50C repeatedly blows fuses, take
the T50C to an authorized Fender Service Center.
G. V9 & V10 TROUBLE - This LED glows green when the
tubes are operating. This LED glows red when there has
been tube failure or trouble at the V9 or V10 locations
which has blown the FUSE {F}. NOTE: This LED only
operates with the standby mode OFF, (see page 4).

SEND {A} level; then increase the RETURN {F} level
to restore the volume balance. Effects devices with
their own level controls require further experiment-
ing to reduce any distortion that may occur due to
circuit overdrive . Repeat process for channel-2.
SWITCHABLE VOLUME LEVEL SETTING
With NO external effects devices connected, the
effects LOOP can be used to set a switchable,
alternate volume level for each channel. Set a pri-
mary volume level for channel-1.
SEND {A} and RETURN {F} controls turned down
to "1," engage the effects LOOP {D}. Turn the
SEND {A} and RETURN {F} controls up together
to the desired alternate volume level.
LOOP {D} between bypass and engage for chan-
nel-1 primary and alternate volume level settings .
Repeat process for channel-2.
OUTPUT TUBE BIAS ADJUSTMENTS.
1. Warm up the T50C for two minutes with the standby mode
OFF and the OUTPUT POWER switch on HIGH.

2. Remove the Bias controls cover box.

3. Set Bias: With a DC voltmeter measure the VDC
between GROUND {C} and V10 {B} test points and
adjust the BIAS {E} control for .03 VDC (30mVDC).
4. Set Balance: Measure the VDC between V9 {A} & V10 {B}
test points and adjust the BALANCE {D} control for 0 VDC
5. Replace the Bias controls cover box.

NOTES:
• •
1. Make Bias and Balance adjustments only when neces-
sary. Take your T50C to the nearest authorized Fender
Service Center if you are unsure about the settings.
2. Always set Bias first, then Balance.
3. If the output tubes cannot be Balanced, replace the
6L6GC output tubes.
4. The V9 &V10 TROUBLE LED {F} is not an indicator of worn
tubes. If your tubes are worn and sound weak, the LED may
still glow green. The LED glows red only when a tube has
failed. DO NOT WAIT FOR TUBE FAILURE TO REPLACE
TUBES. See TUBE REPLACEMENT, page 7.
