1 Insert the battery
Open the battery compartment and connect the battery.

Press the [Temperature] button or the [Humidity] button 2 briefly.

Performing measurements

As soon as the device is switched on, moisture values or temperature values are displayed twice per second
depending on the mode selected. The current display is indicated with the blinking decimal point. The
displayed values are only meaningful when the probe is in the material.
To change the mode, briefly press 1 [Temperature] or 2 [Humidity].
The display light is automatically switched on for measurements above 12% moisture. Manual activation can
be carried out using the buttons 1 [Temperature] or 2 [Humidity]. If there is no measurement above 12%
humidity and no keypress for a period of 10 seconds, the display light is switched off.
The device switches off after 2 minutes without push-button pressure and without moisture measurement
above 12%. To turn the unit back on, press 1 [Temperature] or 2 [Humidity].
If a battery symbol appears on the display, the battery voltage is too low at less than 8 volts, and the battery
must be replaced.
To perform moisture measurements, do the following:
Use the probe on one of the side faces to bounce into the bale and read off the measured value.

Through the current display, you can read off the measured value even during slow grooving.

Moisture values are displayed between 9 and 50 percent.

For moisture values below 9%, the device shows the letter "L"

For moisture values higher than 50%, the moisture is flashing with the lettering "H".

Repeat the measurement at different points with different penetration depths in the bale to obtain a better

overview of the conditions in the bale.
To perform temperature measurements, proceed as follows:
Insert the probe into the bales on one of the side faces.

Wait until the temperature value is stable, this can take up to several minutes. Do not read the value until it

has changed. To activate the display light, press 1 [Temperature].
Note that the probe itself is heated by repeated grooving. Allow the probe to cool accordingly.
To switch the unit between degrees Celsius and degrees Fahrenheit, press and hold 1 [Temperature] for 5

seconds. The setting Celsius is indicated in the display with the symbol ° C.
4 Freezing displayed values HOLD function)
If you can not see the display during moisture measurement, for example if you measure a bale on a trailer,
you can freeze the currently displayed moisture value for 5 seconds by briefly pressing the 2 [Humidity] button.
During this time, the current display is stopped and the held value is displayed together with a non-blinking
decimal point. The automatic display of the current measured value is then started again.
