2 Ear Thermometer
Important: Ensure that a new probe cover is placed over the probe.
The unit has a built-in probe cover detector, i.e. there is a switch at
the base of the probe tip which is activated when a probe cover is
attached. It is not possible to take a measurement without the probe
cover. In this case the unit will display an "Err" message.
Press the ON/OFF/MEM button once to change over to ready to
measure mode. The „
may take a measurement as soon as the beep is heard. Stretch the
ear canal by gently pulling the ear upwards. Carefully guide
the probe into the ear until it is in the correct position. Press the
MEASURE button once. When the beep sounds, the measurement is
complete and the thermometer may be removed. Read off the tem-
perature measured from the display. Press and hold the ON/
OFF/MEM button for approx. 3 seconds to switch the thermometer
off. The thermometer switches itself off automatically after a minute.
If a measurement has been taken, the thermometer switches back to
ready to measure mode after approx. 10 seconds. The thermometer
is ready for a new measurement when the „
on the display and a beep is heard.
Always measure the temperature in the same ear as there may be a
slight difference between the left and right ears. Users of the thermo-
meter must familiarise themselves with the unit until they are confi-
dent about using it. In order to always obtain accurate measurements,
stop for at least 1 minute after taking 4 measurements.

2.5 Battery

The battery must be replaced if the symbol for low battery appears on
the display or if nothing shows up on the display.
• Switch the unit off and open the lid of the battery compartment.
• Use a pointed object to remove the battery from its compartment.
Insert a new lithium battery (CR 2032) and close the battery
compartment.
