4. Operating instructions
4.3 Before first use
1. Before using the appliance for the first time, clean all parts that come into
contact with water, as described in chapter 5. Cleaning and care.
2. Use the appliance as described in paragraph 4.4 Brewing coffee described.
3. Fill the water tank (3) to the "11" marking with water. The water level can be
seen via the water level indicator (4). Do not use any coffee powder.
4. Switch the appliance on and allow the brewing process to finish. Repeat this
process two or three time with fresh water. Dispose of the water from these
completed brewing processes. It contains production particles and should not
be consumed.
4.4 Brewing coffee
NOTE: Always use the glass pot (7) to fill water into the water tank (3).
1. Remove the glass pot (7) from the keep-warm plate (6).
2. Open the lid (1).
3. Place the filter holder (12) in the appliance and lower the filter holder handle
(15) towards the front. Ensure that the interlock mechanism on the appliance
(11) and on the filter holder (14) are connected.
4. Place a coffee filter (1x4) into the filter holder (12). Add the required amount
of coffee powder into the coffee filter.
5. Fill the glass pot (7) with the required amount of water. Pay attention to the
water level indicator and "MAX" marking on the glass pot (7).
6. Carefully pour the water from the glass pot (7) into the water tank (3). Do not
under or overfill the water tank (3).
7. Close the lid (1) so it locks in place.
Caution - Danger of burns! Do not use the appliance with the lid (1)
open. Do not open the lid (1) during the brewing process.
8. Place the glass pot (7) on the keep-warm plate (6).
NOTE: The button ON/OFF (21) has to be accessible at all times.
9. Press the button ON/OFF (21) to switch the appliance on and to start the
brewing process. The operation symbol
