Descaling The Water Tank - Westfalia VSC-18 Bedienungsanleitung

The steam cleaner deposits less calcification and does not need distilled
water. You can operate the steam cleaner with tap water.
If the water in you area is very limy, we recommend to use distilled water for
better performance. Do not use chemically decalcified water but use distilled
water to keep calc deposition in the steam system to a minimum.
Do not descale the steam cleaner with vinegar, but use a customary decalci-
fying agent based on citric acid. Follow the instructions from the manufacturer
of the decalcifying agent.
Ask your water supply company for the water hardness in your area. The
abbreviation mmol/l stands for millimoles per litre.

1. Pour out remaining water from the tank.
2. Fully dissolve the decalcifying agent in water and pour the solution into the
water tank. Leave the solution for the stated time in the tank. This will loosen
any scale that has settled at the bottom of the water tank.
Do not screw the safety seal onto the steam cleaner while you are
descaling and do not operate the steam cleaner!
3. Turn the steam cleaner upside down and
completely empty the water tank.
4. Flush the water tank out with cold water for
at least two times in order to remove all
traces of the decalcifying agent.
