Persons who have not read and understood the operating instructions should not use
the pump!
This device is not intended for use by persons or children (younger than 16 years) with
impaired physical, sensory or intellectual impairments, or if lacking in experience and or
know-how, unless they are under supervision or have been trained in the use of the device
by a person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the device.
Application
The VarioClean is designed to clean green pond water and free-floating algae in fish ponds.
A filter must be integrated with the VarioClean to filter out dead algae from the water.
VarioClean may not be used in or near swimming pools!
For technical information on the filter, see the filter label or the table on page 2.
Safety instructions

UV-C rays are harmful to eyes and skin. Never look directly into the UV-C light
when the UV-C unit of the VarioClean is turned on.

Ensure that the VarioClean is turned off, before the VarioClean is opened. UV-C rays
are dangerous to eyes and skin. Never look directly into the UV-C light.

To ensure that people don't open the VarioClean, who are not familiar with these
instructions and safety regulations, place the VarioClean in a room what can be
locked.

The proper functioning of the lamp can be easily and safely checked during operation
through the transparent sight glass.

Warning! VarioClean may only be used if the electrical system meets relevant
statutory requirements. If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician.

VarioClean may only be connected to a system with a ground-fault circuit interrupter
(30mA) and earthed power outlet.

The mains voltage and current type must match the information on the nameplate.

Place the power outlet in a moisture-free area, at least 2m from the water's edge.

Check the motor housing, power cord, UV-unit and plug for damage before using
VarioClean.

Important: do not use if damaged. Repair is not possible since the cable is moulded
into the ballast and is therefore not replaceable.

Do not suspend or transport VarioClean by the power line (cable).

Do not move or suspend VarioClean by the power cord.

Keep the plug dry. To prevent water from running from the cord to the plug, suspend
the cord in a U-shape (see figure 2, page 2)

When working on VarioClean or in the water, always unplug it from the electrical
outlet to cut off the power supply.

Do not use VarioClean when there are people in the water.

VarioClean should only be used in the water.

VarioClean may only be used for pumping water with a maximum temperature of
35°C.

Protect VarioClean from frost and freezing.
-
Protect VarioClean from direct sunlight.
-
Place the VarioClean and ballast on a non flammable surface and in a well ventilated
area. Avoid overheating.

Repairs must be performed by a qualified service technician.
