speed, and put it on wheels.
Guide the machine at an even slow speed
(walking pace) in a straight line wherever
possible.
Note:
When the working drum is in contact with
the ground, the unit can move.
DANGER!
Danger of injury!
Always keep the extension cable away
-
from the machine.
Wherever possible, work across the
-
slope.
Never start the machine on a solid
-
surface.
If the working drum becomes blocked
-
by a solid object, release the start-up
lever immediately.
If a foreign body was picked up, check
-
the machine and have it repaired if
necessary.
While working, make sure the electric cable is
always behind you and on the side of the area you
have finished.
For an improved result, and to lengthen the
machine's working life, the lawn should be cut as
short as possible.
Staying for too long in one place can damage the
lawn surface.
Two crossed passages, a week apart, will give the
best results.
Lawn care suggestions
Over time, a layer of moss and grass residue
forms on the ground surface reducing its
supply of oxygen and stopping water and
nutritious substances from penetrating. This
impoverishes the lawn and makes it yellow.
The ideal period for aerating and scarifying a
lawn is in autumn or spring.
Optimal working conditions consist of low and
slightly wet grass, as working on ground that is
dry or softened with too much water impedes
collection of material and may damage the
lawn.
It is always advisable to remove leaves from
the lawn before aerating or scarifying.
You can remove that surface felt with a surface
aerating action (with reduced tine depth in the
ground).
By increasing depth (scarifying), that removal
action involves the harder ground layer and, at
the same time, separates grass roots and
increases them. This makes your lawn thicker
with more blades of grass.
Emptying the collecting bag
To remove and empty the collecting bag,
release the operating lever (1) and wait for the
working drum to stop;
lift the protective flap (5), grasp the handle and
remove the collecting bag keeping it in an erect
position.
Working without the collecting bag
Whenever you detach the collecting bag, the
protective flap drops down. When scarifying
without the collecting bag attached, the cuttings
are ejected onto the ground.
When work is finished
Release the lever (1) when work has been
completed.
Disconnect the extension cable first from the
general socket, than from the side of the machine
switch.
Empty the collecting bag.
Before cleaning and storing the machine, allow the
motor to cool (about 30 minutes).
NOTICE!
Risk of damage to the machine!
The working drum may be damaged if
you move the machine (even when the
engine is switched off), for example,
above hard paths. Avoid touching the
working drum with a solid surface or
obstacle. Drive the machine always in a
tilted position and only on the rear
wheels.
Replacing the working drum (only S 1600)
WARNING!
Danger of injury!
Wear safety gloves when working on the
attachment and close to it! Use proper
tools to remove debris, e.g. a wooden
stick! Never use your bare hands!
Always use original spare parts for
replacement. Refer to Spare parts
section. Do not attach any other type of
attachment!
Remove the grass catcher and turn the product
upside down to access the drum.
Pull the securing lever (a) up and turn it to the
unlock position, see Page 4, Fig. 7, step1, 2.
Slide the drum to one side, making the bearing
at both sides leave the seats. see Fig. 7, step
3.
Pull out the drum, Fig. 7, step 4.
