a) Have your power tool repaired by qualifi ed personnel, always using only the
original spare parts. This will ensure that the power tool safety is maintained.
Safety Instructions for Your Hedge Trimmer:
• Keep all parts of your body away from the cutting blade. Do not remove the cut
material and do not hold the cut material while the blade is running. Make sure
the machine is turned off when removing jammed material. Losing concentration
while operating the hedge trimmer for even a short moment may result in a serious
injury.
• Since the cutting blade can come into contact with the power cable, hold the
power tool by its insulated handling surfaces. Shall the cutting blade come into
contact with the power cable, such a contact may expose the conductive parts of the
machine to voltage and thus cause an electric shock to the operator.
• Hold the hedge trimmer by its handle when the blade is not running. When
transporting or storing the power tools, always use the protective cover. Proper
handling of the machine reduces the risk of blade-related injuries.
• Keep the cable away from the cutting mechanism. While operating the machine,
the cable may become hidden in the shrubs and can be accidently cut by the blade.
• Always disconnect the machine from the outlet prior to conducting any work with
the machine, its cleaning or moving.
• Remove all foreign objects from the work area prior to working with the hedge
trimmer.
• Keep the hedge trimmer away from moisture and do not use it in wet conditions
and in rain. Do not wash the machine by spraying water on it. Do not clean the
machine using high pressure or steam.
• Children and persons not acquainted with the instructions in the extent of this
operating manual must not use the machine.
• Apart from reading the operating manual, we also recommend a practical
demonstration of how the machine works by an expert prior to the initial use.
• Always make sure that all protective parts of the machines and handles are
properly attached. Never attempt to use an incomplete machine.
• Never attempt to use an incomplete machine or a machine that has not been
equipped with the given approved design modifi cations.
• Prior to using the hedge trimmer, familiarize yourself with the given work area
and determine possible hazards which you may not be able to hear while the
machine is running.
• Avoid using the machine in bad weather conditions, especially when a storm is
imminent.
