INSTALLATION

Step 1
Switch off your pump. Connected devices like mass spectrometers may be switched off or vented prior.
Remove all vacuum and exhaust hoses from the pump.
Step 2
Place the equipment in a manner that the lateral air intakes and the fans on the back are not blocked. Also
ensure that the power cable is accessible at all times. Place the pump on the optional oil pan respectively on
the ground. Remove the split top cover plate and position the box over the pump. The motor faces towards
the back panel with the fans. Connect the power cable of the pump to the power outlet inside the box. The
power outlet can be found on the black housing on the inside of the back panel with the fans. Make sure that
the voltage rating of the pump is the same as the voltage connected to the noise reduction box. If the pump
is equipped with another plug type, the cable can be fed through the cutout on the bottom of the back panel
and the pump can be supplied as before. Alternatively an electrically qualified person can mount a suitable
plug to the power cord of the pump.
Step 3
Remount the vacuum and exhaust hoses to the pump. If you ordered flange extender kit(s), mount them
between the pump and the hoses. Place the split top cover plates on the box in such a way, that the holes
align with the hose connections of your pump. Connect the box with the provided power cable to your
instrument. If you want to connect the box to a wall outlet please use a common power cord (not included).
The used power cord must be rated for the maximum current stated on the noise reduction box.
