15. Keep hands away from the chip discharge channel.
If the channel is blocked, first the electric tool must
be switched off and allowed to come to a complete
standstill. After that, the chips may be removed.
16. Damaged power supply cords must be replaced
immediately by a specialist.
17. Unauthorized use of this product anyway may lead
to a personal injury.
18. Repairs shall be carried out by the qualified personnel
only.
19. Use only the original spare parts.
20. Use safety glasses and ear protection.
Remaining risks
Even when the electric tool is used properly and all the
relevant safety measures are followed, the following
remaining risks can still occur due to the design of the
electric tool required for the intended working operations:
– contact with the chain cutter in the cutting area;
– injury by the sharp cutting edges during replacement
of cutting tools;
– clothing can be caught by the rotating parts;
– kickback of the electric tool;
– pieces of the workpiece may be thrown away;
– hazards invited by the flexible supply cord;
– even during proper use, risks of some specific accidents
or damages cannot be anticipated.
Assembly of the guide frame
– Fix the sliding shoe (1) at the outermost end of the
horizontal guide rods between the slotted spring pin (5)
and the adjustment ring (6).
– Fix the position 0° by means of the locking pin (7)
and tighten the locking lever (8).
– Locate the motor bracket (2) approximately into the
middle of the toothed rack (3) by means of the hand
wheel (9).
– Screw the handle (10), which is delivered detached from
the guide frame, into the empty threaded hole in the
motor bracket. By tightening the handle, the motor
bracket can be fixed in any position.
– Remove the threaded bolt (12) from the motor bracket.
– Loosen the hand screw (11) which fixes the vertical
guide rod (4). Using the ball knob (13), pull the guide
rod upwards, so far that it can be just fixed in place
by means of the hand screw.
Warning: Now the motor bracket is retained by the
toothed rack only. By the reason of avoidance of damage
to these parts, warping or twisting of the motor
bracket must be prevented.

Preparing and installation
of the chain mortiser
– Before installation of the electric tool, remove the plug
from the mains socket.
– Remove the chain cutting tool if installed.
– Remove the lateral guide from the chain mortiser.
– Unscrew the locking lever with sliding block (14) from
the lateral guide of the chain mortiser.
These parts will be needed to be mounted on the motor
bracket of the guide frame.
Ask someone to help you and place the chain mortiser
on the motor bracket as follows:
– Tilt the guide frame to the left.
– Insert the threaded bolt (12) through both the guide
holes of the chain mortiser.
– Grasp the front handle of the chain mortiser and the
end of the lateral guide arm with scale.
– Introduce the motor bracket of the guide frame between
the handle and the scaled lateral guide arm of the chain
mortiser and turn the chain mortiser in correct position.
– Screw the chain mortiser and the motor bracket (2)
together with the threaded bolt (12) (do not tighten yet).
– Fix the scaled lateral guide arm of the chain mortiser
in the motor bracket holder by means of the locking
lever and the sliding block (14).
– Loosen the hand screw (11) of the vertical guide rod.
Push the guide rod down as far as possible and
retighten the fixing screw.
– Now tighten the threaded bolt.
(Figures 1 to 2)
– Remove the ball knob (15) from the included chain
guide and insert the chain guide in the sliding block
from underneath. Reassemble the ball knob.
– Fix the spring-loaded guide pin (16) by means of the
hand screw (17) in its lower position.
– Place the chain cutting tool for groove cutting in the
chain guide and assemble it with the chain mortiser.
Make sure that only chain cutting tools designed
for grooving depths up to 400 mm are installed. New
chain cutting tools are equipped with the longitudinal
slot to accommodate the guide pin, with the purpose
of avoidance deflection of the guide rail during work.
Any other sizes of the chain cutting tools are prohibited
for application with this guide frame. Otherwise safety of
the electric tool is no longer guaranteed and the
manufacturer is not liable for damages resulting from such
application.
– Move the chain guide to touch the top surface of the
guide rail.
– Loosen the hand screw (17) and fix the guide pin in the
longitudinal slot of the guide rail. Tighten the hand
screw.
