4. ELECTRICAL WIRING

Main Power Cables

EMPHASER recommends a minimum power cable cross-section (for 5m total length) of no less than
10mm² for both the main and the ground power cables. This does guarantee trouble-free operation.
Cross sections too low will cause the amp module to overheat.
You can remove the power connector from the amp module, for the connection of both the +12V
and GND power wires.

Connect the +12V power cable and tighten up the screw of the terminal. Now proceed with the
ground wire. To protect your vehicle against shorting and resulting fire hazards, you must insert a
main-fuse holder within the first 30 cm of cabling in the engine compartment.
Choose a ground point in the vehicle, not too far away from the amp terminal. The ground contact-
point must be solid and clean, e.g. free from rust or paint etc.
If your headunit offers a REM or P.CNTR out, route a wire back to the amp module and connect it
to the center terminal (REM) of the power connector.

RCA Interconnects

For best sound quality and noise immunity. use shielded or twisted-pair RCA interconnects. Note
that RCA interconnects should be routed away from electrical devices or power cables of the vehicle.
Run the audio signal interconnects from the head-unit or dashboard to the amp module. Connect
the RCA plugs of the interconnect to the preamp line outs of your head-unit and to the input of the
adapter, connected to the amp module.
If your headunit does not offer RCA line outs, you must wire up the audio-in interface to the existing
loudspeaker wiring.
Cut
Connect as follows – to the corresponding speaker wires:
White to the left (+)
White/black to the left (-)
Grey to the right (+)
Grey/black to the right (-)
External Bass Level Remote Control
Chose a convenient mounting location for the bass level remote control, that offers easy access for
adjustment. With mounting location selected, you must run the control wire to the amp module and
connect the plug to the respective control port.
Note: Connecting the remote to the amp module will override the GAIN control on the amp module.
With the wiring completed, reconnect the negative battery lead.
Switch on your head unit. The blue status LED of the amplifier should turn on. If the LED is lit red,
re-check all connections because something was not wired up properly.
