Starting-up and operation of the light-curing unit egger EL 3
The unit is intended for the operation with UVA-light bulbs. The light bulbs are already
mounted. The switch on the side of the unit turns on the light bulbs. It is recommendable to
control the time of polymerization with the digital timer (REF 68601). After expiration of the
polymerization time, turn off the unit manually on the switch.

Working with the UV-curing materials
4.1
Specific storage regulations
The materials are to be stored in a cool and dry place (at a maximum room temperature of
23 °C = 73.4 °F). Please mind that the containers are closed at any time, when not in use and
that they are closed immediately after use. Otherwise, there might be the danger of activat-
ing an unintentionally chemical reaction through the permeability of light (curing of the ma-
terial). The expiry date, applicable when stored adequately, is indicated on the product.
Tip: Already opened packages of lacquers or instant adhesives are recommended to be
kept in the refrigerator.
4.2
Specific processing notes
Please avoid direct skin contact with the materials. Before using them protect your hands by
wearing gloves or using special skin protection products.
The material is to be used by authorized and trained staff only. Processing of the lacquers
should be done beneath an absorbing device. Use the
lacquering brushes always for one type of lacquer only.
Details on the disposal can be taken from our safety data sheets which can be downloaded
in PDF format from our website: www.egger-labor.com.

Lacquering with LP/H lacquer antibac

By using the LP/H lacquer antibac, you can protect hard earmolds due to an antibacterial
coating with high gloss effect.
First, the part of the earmold that is to be processed always has to be
roughened with Corund paper, grit 180, (REF 40704).
Then, fix the BTE earmold onto a piece of nylon tube (REF 97200). For an ITE earmold,
the alligator clip of the turning motor can be fixed on the opened battery valve.
Then, clean and degrease the surface carefully by using the hand-spray pump
(REF 86732) containing Surface Cleaner.
Apply the lacquer evenly with the brush. Alternatively, the earmold can also be
immersed in a dipping jar (REF 31400 or 31401; but do not immerse ITE earmolds with
built-in electronics or face-plates!
Then, make sure that spare lacquer is shaken off.
Let the lacquer dry rotating for about 2 – 3 minutes in the light-curing unit. Afterwards
the earmold is directly ready for use.
