5.3 Cleaning filters

The filters trap a high proportion of the
cooking fumes and, therefore, should be
cleaned at least once a month in normal
use, preferably in a dishwasher. To avoid
trapping food particles in the filters, it is ad-
visable to wash them separately from other
items to be washed.
Place the filters horizontally in the dish-
washer to allow the water to penetrate as
far as possible into them and run off easily
during the drying cycle.
The panel of the ceiling unit must be regu-
larly cleaned because of the grease depos-
its. Visible grease deposits accumulate
faster due to the unit's high position in the
ceiling and so the ceiling unit requires regu-
lar cleaning.

5.4 Replacing bulbs

Before replacing a bulb, unplug the unit
from the mains or switch off the circuit to
which extractor is connected.
1. If the lighting is not working properly,
take out the spotlights with the extension
cable from the panel one by one and con-
nect the jumper cable.
2. If you have replaced a spotlight with the
jumper and the light goes on again, then
this spotlight is the faulty one. Replace it
with a new spotlight. If you have changed
all the spotlights with the jumper and the
lighting still does not work, go to step 3.
3. If the lighting does not work after replac-
ing the spotlights with the jumper, then the
problem is not one of the spotlights. Check
that all the connections are tight and prop-
erly assembled (the panel should be disas-
sembled to do so).
