Safety notes for the air pump:
1.
Check that the operating voltage stated on the model label is corresponding with the mains voltage.
2.
Do not disconnect the appliance with wet hands and without to force the supply cord.
3.
Do not move the appliance with aid of supply cord.
4.
Disconnect all electrical appliances from the power supply before working in or on the aquarium!
5.
The appliance is not to be used for purpose other than that described in these instructions for use.
6.
Never submerge the appliance in water!
7.
The appliance is only for use indoors
8.
Do not use or stop the use if the appliance is damaged, especially the supply cord and the case.
9.
Disconnect from the power supply before opening the appliance!
10. Unplug the appliance, when the appliance is not in use and before cleaning.
11. The power cable must be replaced if damaged (by a qualified person)!
12. Careful supervision is required if the appliance is used by or in the vicinity of children or handicapped persons.
13. periodical maintenance of the appliance is necessary (see this manual part 9)
DISPOSAL: Do not dispose this product as unsorted municipal waste. Collection of such waste separately for special treatment is necessary.
Installation:

1)
Remove the foam cartridge, rinse in luke-warm water and squeeze out excess water. Place the cartridge
back in position.

2)
Using JBL FilterStart cleansing bacteria, biologically activate the foam cartridge: evenly distribute 50 drops
FilterStart on the surface of the foam cartridge.

3)
Push the air hose on to the air connection and simply place the filter in any position in the aquarium.
Connect the other end of the air hose to the air pump, JBL EcoAir 40.

Place the JBL EcoAir 40 air pump in a dry and dust-free location above the level of the water, if possible,

in order to prevent any flowback of water into the appliance.
If the appliance is positioned below the level of the water, we urgently recommend fitting a suitable flow-
back valve or fitting an air hose in the shape of a loop about 15cm above the level of the water.

5)
Connect the air pump to the power supply.
