Electrical power failure
In the case of an electrical power failure of more
than 8 hours, the softener will restart with automatic
regeneration.
The pre-programmed parameters are perma-nently
stored and are not affected by a power outage.

5 Installation conditions

General information
The system must be set up as per the installation
manual according to the AVB Wasser V, §12.2 by
the water distribution company or an installation
company registered in a directory of fitters held by
a water installation company.
Observe all applicable installation regulations, gene-
ral guidelines, hygiene requirements and technical
specifications.
Site of installation and surrounding area
Water softeners must not be installed in water supply
systems that provide water for fire extinguishing
purposes.
The site of installation must be frost-proof, must
guarantee protection of the unit against chemicals,
dyes, solvents and vapours, must have construction
waterproofing in accordance with DIN 18195-5 and
enable easy connection to the water supply.
A wastewater connection (min. DN 50), a floor drain
and a separate network connection (230 V/50 Hz)
must be close by.
If no floor drain is available, then a separate safety
device (e.g. BWT water stop) must be used to
prevent water damage or flooding in the case of a
power failure.
If the treated water is for human consumption in
terms of the German Drinking Water Ordinance,
then the ambient temperature must not exceed
25 °C.
If the treated water is exclusively for use in technical
applications, the ambient temperature must not
exceed 40°C.
Electromagnetic interference (voltage peaks, high-
frequency electromagnetic fields, interference
voltage, voltage deviations ...) by the surrounding
electrical installations must not exceed the maxi-
mum values stated in EN 61000-6-4.
The power supply (230 V/50 Hz) and the necessary
operating pressure must be guaranteed perma-
nently.
Separate protection against water deficiencies does
not exist and must be fitted locally – if required.
