discharge will not cause any problems. Guide the water to the side with
hoses – hoses with a 38 mm ID can be used.
Lift the brim of the tub up when connecting the valve (picture on right) to fit
the valve. Use pipe tape in all pipe thread connections, in case the
connection does not have any sealing. The plug in the shut-off valve is
opened and locked by tightening the plug with a ring nut and by moving the
loosened plug in or out. Do not leave the plug on and closed for longer
periods so that it will not get stuck in the valve body.

FIRE SAFETY

In case the tub is placed near buildings, e.g.
the edge of a terrace, ensure that the
chimney is located away from flammable
materials. Remember to check the distance
both sideways and vertically in order to
avoid the risk of fire. The distance should be
three metres away from any flammable
material. A smaller dimension is sufficient
for the chimney. In case the chimney is
closer, use a separately insulated chimney.
When near a roof or when running the chimney through the roof, the end of
the insulated chimney needs to be one metre above the roof.
There should be no flammable material located in front of the hearth, and
an area of concrete, sand, or a metal plate is needed. Ask more from a local
fire authority.
Chimney
Be careful, the edges of the chimney are very sharp. Use protective gloves! The chimney is
delivered in a separate box and it consists of four parts (picture on right) and it needs to be
assembled. Remove the protective film from the thermal protection and place the assembled
chimney to the chimney outlet of the stove.
Grates
The CUBE stove has two grates and one solid L-shaped iron. They are installed on the
stove brackets as indicated in the picture. The L-shaped iron should be the first edge
turned upwards. This way, it works as a spoiler and it also keeps the firewood in
better. These should always be in place when using the stove. (image on right)
MACU stoves come with a cradle fireplace grate where a single wire tray grate is
installed. An air iron plate is placed on the top shelf to direct the circulation of air in
the upper part of the firebox. It is prohibited to use the stove without these parts.
Note that these parts wear down over time and get bent and their form will change in
use. You can purchase new ones as spare parts when needed (image on the right).
