General procedure for installing, connecting,
4
programming and inspecting all the system
devices
4.1 - Fastening and connecting all the devices
To fasten and connect all the devices of the system, perform all the opera-
tions explained below; please comply scrupulously with the sequence given.
01. In the automation system, establish the position where each of the wire-
less devices will be installed (refer to fig. 2, the instruction manual of
the control unit and the instruction manual of each device). Warning –
Two or more pairs of wireless photocells do not generate any optical
interference between each other even when their positions are close
to each other. If hardwired (traditional) photocells are also present in
the same automation system, it is recommended to install the TX wire-
less elements and the RX hardwired elements on the same side and
the remaining RX and TX elements on the opposite side. This prevents
optical interferences between the hardwired photocells and the wire-
less ones.
02. Disassemble the devices to freely access the "T" key, the "J" jumpers
and the batteries (see figs. 3, 4, 5).
03. Consult the tables shown in the instruction manual of the automation
system to choose the function you want to attribute to each device (for
the LLW device, see the respective instruction manual). Now insert the
jumpers in each device according to the configuration shown in the
tables.
04. Connect each TCW1/2 device required to the wires of the sensitive edge
in question, as shown in fig. 6.
05. Access the automation control unit (see the instructions manual) and
connect the IBW interface to the control unit (see section 4.2.1 or 4.2.2).
06. Put all wireless devices close to the IBW interface to program each one
(refer to chapter 5 and find the section for the purpose you require).
07. After programming, run a device search in the control unit according to
the procedure given in the instructions manual of the control unit. The
same operation can also be run with the Oview programmer by sending
the BlueBUS Search command.
08. Temporarily position each wireless device in the spot defined for its
installation; position the antenna of the IBW interface in a point that will
provide good reception/transmission. Lastly, check the proper func-
tioning of all the system devices by running the Inspection of the entire
system as described in chapter 6.
09. After the inspection, fix each single wireless device to the preestab-
lished points (refer to figs. 7, 8, 9). Fix the IBW interface in proximity to
the control unit or inside it and protect it adequately (fig. 10). Finally, use
the double stick tape included in the supply to fasten the antenna in the
position established during the inspection.
4.2 - Connecting the IBW interface
4.2.1 - Connecting the IBW interface to a Nice generic control unit using the
LLW flashing signaler
In fig. A you can see an example of how to connect the IBW interface to the Nice
generic control unit using the BlueBUS communication protocol. If you do not intend
to use the LLW flashing signaler or if you want to use it exclusively as a courtesy
light, you can opt to not connect it to the "Flash" terminal of the control unit.
4.2.2 - Connecting the IBW interface to a Nice generic control unit and set-
ting up a mixed network
As explained in chapter 2, you can create a mixed BlueBUS network where "wire-
less" and "hardwired" devices can
coexist. For this type of network, bear
in mind that:
– the installation of mixed devices does
not increase the maximum number
of devices that can be installed in the
control unit (see the instructions man-
ual of the control unit);
– the jumper configurations in the
photocells must be different among
the various pairs of photocells in the
system, but without distinguishing
between the wireless and hardwired
photocells.
