PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Limetree Headphone is a high-grade headphone amplifier
which can also be used as an excellent line preamplifier. It features
three line-level inputs, one headphone output and one line-level
output. The inputs may be used to connect network players, CD
players, USB DACs or phono preamps.
The circuit has been designed around a high-quality analog vol-
ume level control and a high-current, so-called diamond buffer.
This buffer works in class-A mode and without negative feedback
and when used as a headphone amplifier, it is truly superlative
with regard to circuit layout and sound. Especially with low levels
this technology offers an outstanding resolution. Noise and distor-
tion figures are close to the resolution limit of modern measuring
equipment. We use only the finest components on the world mar-
ket throughout, for instance a studio-grade volume potentiometer
and closely toleranced capacitors and resistors from Japan.
As power supply we use an external high-quality "medical grade"
wall plug transformer which ensures a particularly good isolation
from line disturbances. Owing to the elaborated onboard filtering
and special voltage regulators, we were able to realize an excep-
tionally low-noise power supply with a ripple voltage below 10 µV.
