Fresh air box ALB 125 EH and ALB 200 EH
· Electrical connection
Insert the electrical cables at the casing front side th
rough the four cable holes.
INSTALLAION
The device can be installed in any position (be-
side fig.1) - vertical and horizontal- with air outlet
on the top, or the bottom or on the side.
fig. 1
Installation in the pictured position is not allowed!
For cleaning or changing the filter please provide
easy accessibility. When installing into a ceiling void
provide an access opening in the size of the casing
top in the ceiling.
– To reduce noise transmission
a) In parts of the building: the ALB has to be fixed
with anti vibration rubber mounts.
b) In duct systems: intake and extract connections
with flexible connections (pipe clamp connectors
type BM accessory).
– Duct installation
The duct system has to be insulated against
ambient conditions on the site.
a) Hot and humid ambient insulate to prevent
condensation on the supply duct to the unit.
b) Cold ambient after the unit can cause conden
sation inside the duct and insulation of the duct is
necessary.
The casing of the ALB is insulated adequately (with
50 mm thick mineral wool package).

ELECTRICAL CONNECTION

Attention: All electrical work must be carried out
with the power off. The installation may only be car
ried out by a qualified electrician to wiring diagram
SS795.4. The appropriate safety/ installation/
maintenance regulations have to be followed.
An isolation switch with a minimum 3 mm thick con
tact opening is required (regulation VDE 0700 part 1
7.12.2 / EN 603351). Power and frequency have to
agree with the information on the name plate.
When inserting the electrical cables make sure that
no water can come into the unit. Further operations
see chapter „putting into operation".
ACCESSORY,
SWITCHES AND CONTROLLERS
These units should only be used with the recommended
Helios accessories otherwise any warranty claim may
be invalid.
Operating switch
Type B-ALB
Includes the following functions:
a) Ventilation operation 3 speed and ON/OFF
b) Adjustable heating with set temperature when
connecting a room or duct sensor.
c) Enforced overrun time (circa. 1 min.) of the fan, after
switch of the unit.
c) Filter monitoring (accessory DDS)
d) Operating display with LEDs.

LED filter display / induced voltage
Depending on the local installation situation, an
induced voltage can make the LED light up on the
signal for the LED filter display (BALB, terminal 5),
even if the terminal is not actively activated. This
induced voltage can be eliminated with an X2 interfe
rencesuppression capacitor (0.33 µF / 275 V~, Ref.
no. 84955) connected between the BALB terminals
3(N) and 5.
Room sensor
Type TFR-ALB
Room sensor for surface installation;
used with operation switch BALB.

PUTTING INTO OPERATION
The following checks have to be done:
– Check the application of the unit.
– Compare the supply voltage and frequency with
the information on the name plate.
– Check the fan is finally fixed.
– All parts, especially screws, nuts and grilles have
to be checked for tightness fit.
– Check the free running of the impeller.
– Connect the inlet duct, the operation switch, the
sensor and the setpoint device to SS795.4.
– Check the earth wire connection.
– Check if the electrical cables are fixed properly
and are sealed with suitable glands.
– The device may only be put into operation when
protection against contact of moving parts is
assured.
– Compare the power consumption and the
formation on the type label when running.

MAINTENANCE

Attention: Maintenance is only to be carried out with
the power isolated (also see electrical connection).
Attention: Heat build up / danger of burning !!
After opening the casing over it is possibly to touch
the hot heating elements.
– Excessive build up of dirt, dust , grease on the
filter, impeller, motor, grill and especially between
the casing and the impeller has to be prevented by
Ref. No. 2734
periodical cleaning.
– To monitor the filter it is recommended to use
automatical control DDS (see accessory).
DDS setting:
1. Set the fan on the maximum operation value.
2. Check the DDS switching point.
3. Change the setting of the DDS to 2times of the
set point (but not higher than the maximal pressure
of the fan, see performance curve).

– Check the pollution of the device, sensor and
setpoint device regularly and if necessary clean with
a dry cloth (do not use water or liquid cleaner).
– The motor is equipped with a maintenancefree
and suitable for continuous operation ball
arings. Under normal operating conditions they
should be replaced after 40,000 hours of operation.
They also have to be replaced in case of standstill
or storage for a period of more than 2 years. In
case the unit assume a supply engineering
operation a maintenance is to be done in maximal
6 month intervals or in case of longer stillstand at
reconnexion.
FI-Protection switch
If the installation is protected by a FIprotection
switch and is triggered while the device is connec
ted,
humidity in the heater may be the reason. If
the device, which contains a heater has been stored
in a humid environment or hasn't been used for a
long time, moisture can enter the unit. This may not
be an error but it should be checked by an electrici
an to know whether there might be an error. If this is
the case the unit may not operate further. If there is no
error it is recommended to plug the unit in a
socket without a FIprotection switch so that the de
vice can dry.
The drying time can be from 1 hour up to several
days. The device should be switched on a few times
preventively if it is standing still for a long time.
WARRANTY - EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY
If the preceding instructions are not observed all
warranty claims are void. The Helios warranty is limited
to the material and workmanship of the product.
CERTIFICATED
If installed correctly the product complies with
relevant. European standards and regulations as at
the time of its manufacture.
