INSTALLATION AND OPERATING INSTRUCTION
To ensure safety please read the following
instructions carefully before proceeding.
RECEIPT
Please check consignment immediately on receipt
for accuracy and damage. If there is a damage, it has
to be reported to the forwarder immediately. Delay in
notification may invalidate any possible claim.
STORAGE
For storage over a longer period of time the following
steps have to be taken to avoid harmful exposu
res (except of the heating element): protection by a
dry,
airproof and dustproof packing. The storage
area must be dry and free from vibration or large va
riations in temperature. For storage over a few years
or a motor at stillstand an inspection of the bearings
or if necessary a replacement of the bearings has to
be carried out: The slated fan performance has be
en measured in accordance with VDE 0701 / VDE
0530. The measured performance on site may differ
depending on the installation. In case of reshipment
(especially over longer distances) it has to be assured
that the packaging is suitable for the transport type
and the route of transport.
Damage due to transportation, storage or improper
installation and operation are not valid for warranty
claims.
APPLICATION / OPERATION
For a pleasant room climate of inlet external fresh
air which is filtered and automatically heated to a
given temperature, for direct installation in ducting.
For various applications in commercial and indus
trial areas.
NOISE LEVEL
The noise levels in the catalogue can differ depending
of the type of installation because the sound pressu
re depends of the absorption capacity or the instal
lation location. Noise reduction can be achieved by
application of an attenuator.
CONTACT SAFETY
When installing the safety regulations have to
be
followed. Contact with rotating devices must
be avoided; if necessary protective guards have to
be installed according to DIN EN ISO 5801. The fan
has to be protected of foreign objects which might
fall into it. In case of an accident due to missing protect
guards the installer is responsibile.
AIR FLOW DIRECTION AND
DIRECTION OF ROTATION
Rotation and air flow direction (no reverse operation
possible) is marked by arrows on the unit (direction
of rotation = red, air flow direction = blue). The air flow
direction is defined by the application. Wrong direction
of rotation leads to a performance
creases the noise level and the current consumption
which may damage the motor.
PERFORMANCE DATE
– Electrical values
The name plate gives information about the
electrical details and should be checked to ensure
that it matches site condition.
DESCRIPTION
Information:
The maximum current in control mode can deviate
from the nominal current, or be higher!
The compact flat casing is isolated thermally and
acoustically and equipped with an air filter, fan, heater
with controller and electrical terminal box.
What is needed for external control element:
– Operation switch BALB
– A temperature sensor for installation in rooms
(TFRALB)
or
– Duct sensor (TFK) for installation in intake ducts.
– DDS Differential pressure switch for filter control
These elements have to be ordered separately
(accessory).
· Casing
Made of 50 mm thick mineral wool insulation and
faced with a fibre glass sheet to protect against dust.
Easy removable lid with four spigots have rubber seals
and match standard duct sizes. Two connections are
provided for the DDS switch (accessory) on each side.
· Filter
A large filter from washable plastic fibre, strengthe
ned for long cleaning intervals is free accessible by
takingoff the casing lid.
Basic version is class G4. Filter of higher performance
is M5 and F7 (accessory) are available alternatively.
Note the reduction of the air flow (see performance
loss, in
curves).
· Fan
The speed can be switched in three steps by the
operating switch. Low noise and a powerful centrifu
gal fan in a spiral casing of galvanised steel. Motor
/
impeller unit is swing out and free accessible for
service. Driven by maintenancefree external motor.
Thermal contacts are integral. Protection class IP 44.
· Motor protection
By thermal contacts connected in series (not
automatic resetting).
To reset the thermal contacts the main supply must
be switched off (cooling time is approx. 15 minutes).
Important! Frequent activation of the thermal contacts
means the system may not be run on and has to be
checked by a qualified person.
Information: The fans type ALB 125 C EH2 has a
forward curved centrifugal impeller. They have the
property that the required power decreases while
the pressure difference increases. A lower current
consumption than the nominnal current indicates no
output deficit.
· Electric heater battery
Enclosed heater element made from highgrade
stainless steel with low surface temperature which
heats the fresh air to the given temperature.
The heating can be activated by the operation switch
(accessory). Control is by the electronical pulser
(integrated in the unit) with sensors and setpoint
measuring. The performance is controled stepless
with a constant comparison between the setpoint
and the measured temperature of the duct sensor.
· Safety control
The electrical heating will only run if the fan is on and
is a minimum air flow (step 1 on the operating switch).
When a temperature of 80 °C is exceeded the hea
ting is switched off by an overheat thermostat (self
resetting) and after cooling down the thermostat
switch on again.
Additionally the heating is switched off by two
independent, manual resettable overheat thermostats
when a temperature of 120 °C is reached and stays
in this condition until an authorised electrician resets
it. (The EH5: one thermostat effects one heating ele
ment).
Important! Frequent activation of the overheat
thermostats point to a problem. The system should
not be run on and has to checked by a qualified
person.
